EVO X turbo lag?
Lots of newer engines use a combination of direct injection and small turbocharger to eliminate lag like the VW GTI or MS3. It's a nice stock setup but isn't the way to go for big power yet.
you all act like turbo lag is bad. It really is not bad. If your racing your always gonna be on turbo, and for daily driving when your cruising theres no need for it. And lastly it makes for a nice kick in the *** feeling when you start to accelerate and you feel the boost kick in.
+1
Other contributors to lag besides the size of the turbo (and subsequent wheel size) are the size of the intercooler and whether it is a FMIC or a TMIC? Subi believes in TMIC clearly. A bit less efficient at cooling but everything is right there in a bundle.
I'd agree that the stock turbo on E85 is pretty amazing. Anyone complaining about lag on the X didn't test drive a Saab 9-3 ten years ago. It was scary making left-hand turns in those. Turbo cars today are *nothing* like that.
that's why they came out with the 2.3L 9-3 Viggen... talk about torque steer!
