Idiosyncracies of the Evo X

*I apologize for all the threads*

Has anybody come across and non serious flaws with their X's yet? I am noticing a creaking sound from the passenger side when I go over seems on the highway. Sounds like it is something in the interior plastics. What do you think?

I'm having a similar sound but its nothing that really bothers me. I've been in few cars where some creaking noise isn't made when hitting bumps. And I frequently drive 911s and Cayennes and new Mercedes. Thats just a matter of having plastic pieces holding more plastic pieces.

So true. Even the nicest European cars develop rattles today.

I've got some creaks when I hit bumps, after I slap the clove box, it stops! My aero side skirt on the pass side looks like it's not properly lined up, I'm receiving rock indentations on my front bumper and air dam at 600 miles. The sycro's are terrible when the cars cold, after driving it for a few they start to warm up though. Rather than that all is good! I'm going to call Mitsubishi today and express some of the problems I've had with both the GTS and X.

Yup, mine is the glove box too. I am going to pull it out and find out what is making it happen. I already had it out once when I ran the line for the boost gauge.

i figured it was just what happens to all the plastic parts when the chassis starts flexing and moving with regular use.

my srt which was a neon has less creaks than this so i hope it settles down with a few miles.

Yea I'm sure your SRT did have less creaks but you gotta remember the X has a much more stiffer chassis and suspension system, way less give when you hit a chuck hole or bump you really feel it because the only thing that does move is the interior lol, not to mention low pro 18's doesn't take holes/bumps to well either.

you would think highway driving would be easier on suspensions. my commute is pretty rough on it i think with all the uneven unflushed joints at bridges. america need to fix its roads. not like europe is any better.

Yeah the roads in Ohio are terrible, I love how they half patch chuck holes the size of texas with tar.

Glove Box creaking also. I have just pushed on it and it goes away. a piece of felt on the edge somewhere might help that. Only got 500 miles on mine so far, I'll have to look at it when I get back home (I'm suffering on a business trip in Canada-I want to get back to my new 10).

Glove box rattles like crazy. I open it up and leave it hanging to solve the issue.

OK, we need to figure out this glove box crap like now. I thought it was just me. Whoever figures it out first wins a sticky thread.
