First EVO X Rally WIN
I'm not a X hater but some of what the haters are saying is simply true....ie gearing, and power/weight ratio. I understand all the safety regulation crap and all b.s. The bottom line is most of them "DO" look at basic things like straight line performance because that's how most cars are marketed. I don't like the idea of the X being all around slower than the IX but then again I'm not in the market for one. I think it's a great car but it'll never be the ALL OUT TRACK BEAST that the VIII/IX's are....whether it's DRAG or ROAD COURSE.....so all of the FANBOYS/HATERS ALIKE can keep argueing because deep down we all know which is the better performer.
P.S.
Ask robert fuller from ROBISPEC ( T H E suspension expert for EVOs ) about his stock X with coilovers putting out a better lap time than a decked out 9 and then come back and tell me the 9 is the better track car. Pfff
A stock Evo X with an equivalent tune to the stock Evo 8 and Evo 9 cars would be a little better comparison. The stock Evo 8, 9 ran rich, but not nearly as ridiculously rich as the X. They are off the scale, go below 10:1 a/f ratio. Its a wonder that it runs as good as it does. Take a stock 8 or 9 and go add 10% fuel on all the fuel maps and see how well it runs. It will choke too, and slow down dramatically. The difference in the acceleration of .2 to.3 is a product of bad tune and slightly higher weights. An HKS drop in filter will add a good bit of that short coming in acceleration and only cost $40. Works wonders for $40.

Awesome! I'll be glad when we start seeing the X in the PWRC so we have a better idea how it fares. It's still funny the guy took basically an undeveloped X and won the rally.
Someone was asking about the WRC, and there's big changes afoot there. The WRC cars are supposed to be "super Super 2000" cars, basically an S2000 car with a "kit" that will convert the car to full WRC spec. The idea is to attract more manufacturers to the sport with cars that cost around €300K v.s. about €150K for S2000 cars and much cheaper than the current crop of WRC cars. S2000 cars are N/A, but the WRC class cars will get forced induction. I'm not sure if the AWD drivetrain will be spec Sadev like is currently used in S2000.
The new WRC rules are up in the air, but it sounds like more manufacturers, including Mitsubishi would be interested if the FIA could control costs. Another change will be going from 16 to 12 rounds with some sort of way of rotating events in and out of the schedule.
