Mitsu sales down 26.3%...Evo X sells 364 units in April
It was a joke guys. I'm sure my Gpa is rolling over in his grave all the same, but I have a 68 Camaro to balance the scale. I also have a Half German/Half Korean GF, wonder how he feels about that. lol. sorry for OT
Well, the WWII generation is slowly becoming extinct and I don't think Mitsubishi Motors targets their products at them anyway, besides, explain to me how the hell Volkswagen has become the largest car manufacturer in Europe when during WWII it was "Hitlers" car? Mitsubishi at the beginning of this century was selling in US 300,000 cars per year, right now they are selling about 120,000. I think what really caused the drop was the Mitsubishi Fuso cover-up (which had nothing to do with Mitsubishi passenger cars at all but the name Mitsubishi was associated with it which resulted in drop of brand perception), also the 0-0-0 program offered at the beginning of this century which resulted in a very high repossession rates which resulted huge financial losses for Mitsu Motors, and a very bad redesign of 2004 Galant (their bread and butter car). 99-03 Galant was selling at over 80K units a year which was very good by those year standards. 2004-up Galant is no where near those numbers.
Not the case. Check post #49. Many other brands posted gains. None posted a loss as bad as Mitsu. Yes, the industry was down in April...but Mitsu was nearly 3 times worse than the industry average.
And, to your point about Toyota, they posted a 3.4% increase...not a 26.3% decrease.

here's the article I'm citing. Take from it what you may. They are still making money but their sales have plummeted, like **MANY** others.

Most people go to a Mitsubishi enthusiast site to get useful information on their Mitsubishi. Here it seems all you guys want to do is bash Mitsubishi and complain about them. Why?
I think the Evo X is a great car, and I have enjoyed every moment I have spent in it. Mitsubishis current sales have no effect on the performance of the car, and they dont appear to be in any danger of going out of business. The Evo has a great history of holding its value due to the low supply and very unique market.
Why dont we all get back to the roots of this forum and be excited about our cars, instead of bashing on each other and the products we are here to discuss.
