Not Mitsu, most of the Mitsubishi dealerships in Canada think they are selling Ferraris or something. I walked in willing to sign on a GSR and they would not budge an inch in price.

hehe, I'm going to just play hard ball with the dealers now. I'm not in a rush to buy anymore... Kinda tempted to wait and see if the '09's will have a non-ugly bumper

Problem is when the '09s come out the dealers won't budge on their price. You'll get a good deal with the '08s but you still get the ugly body panneling

Question

-

I know this is the EVO forums... but any of you guys think importing the RalliArt will also be advantageous? They've not announced the pricing on it as of yet... but anything over 30,000$ would look to me like rip-off since the base price will be 26,500$ in the US. Since Mitsubishi Canada are aguably some sort of mafia, they could very well decide to ask 33 - 34K for the RalliArt. I mean, seeing the WRX is already overpriced in Canada (34K$CAN MSRP, I mean come-on), wouldn't it be tempting for them to do so?

I would not mind some crazy-mega-road-trip from the US (California here I come!) with my new RalliArt if it would save me a ton of dough... but of course, I would have to save at least 5K$ on it to outweigh the loss of a warranty.

[now prepares mentally to be mugged by angry EVO crowd for posting about RalliArt in precious EVO forums]

Pure speculation, I'm suspecting they'll price it $2500 less than the GSR base price. so like $37,500'ish...

I dunno, I'm hesitant to import a MR, if that tranny fails.. noone can fix them and who knows the pricing for them... lack of warranty sucks..

I'm debating waiting on the G37X though at this point.

What's going on there? I will just be getting back from Europe but I would love to meet a couple of you calgary guys. Also, I was speaking with Sam from Southcoast and he said that they are currently working on a warranty thing with mitsubishi to get the warranty transferable to canada and he thinks he should have it working in the next week or so.

Not only the canadian dealers smokes the socks... "my" dealership actually had the guts to tell me that the emissions is diffrent on the car since its beeing sold in FL. To make a short story long, i didn't buy the X i had put a deposit on at the local dealership. He got all p|ssy and started these wild storys about having problems with title here in PA since the car i found was in Ft. Lauderdale... I called MMNA and got a official letter stating that there is no difference WHATSOEVER on the X's delivered to the US. Same car will be sold all over... HAHAHA you should have seen his face when i show him the documents. Also a printout from Department of whatever with an emission matrix from both the GSR and the MR. (He didnt even know there was a MR)

If this does happen it might put some pressure on Canadian dealers to rethink their pricing strategy as I have to beleive that many potential buyers up here would be more than willing to fly down to pick up their car for the kind of savings that could be possible. I know that I would, seeing as my wife has already agreed that we will be going to where ever in Canada that we can get the best price and then driving it home because waranty is a big factor for us.

Well, I always have been a bit slow
I am not sure what is going to happen with pricing on the evo's. MMNA must be realizing their canadian pricing system isn't working if a lot of people are contacting them about importing. I know that if this warranty thing does go through then I will pick one up for sure, and to be honest I feel Southcoast probably has some pull with mitsu because of the percentage of evo's that they move. I guess we can just hope.

If they approve the warranty transfer, we'll most likely see a drop in the Canadian pricing for '09 as well.
