wow...the X is retardedly slow, unless the driving is just bad because people aren't used to them yet.

Well they are 13.6 @ 101 stock with the 2nd reflash. Are they slow stock? Yes... but I wouldn't say "retardedly slow" since stock evo 8/9's were only around ~4 tenths and ~4 mph quicker in the quarter mile. Not everyone can match the magazine times drag racing the first time and the stock clutch turns to powder when you try to apply too much power when it's not fully engaged. You can expect low to mid 12's at 108-112 with basic stage 3 bolt ons and even the OP's boyfriend came close to that on the trap speeds, likely just needed a better clutch off the line.

My IX went 12.9@106 bone stock. Iam sure my X will not come close to that mph let alone break the 100mph mark. At least it feels that way to me.

To be honest i would be quite dissapointed with your 109 trap speed considering the amount of money you have spent already. No offense but it is tuned by Al.

It feels pretty fast to me... I'm just not used to it yet, and I'm not a pro driver either...lol

You must be some kind of pro driver to get that kind of time in a bone stock IX.... Every time I see a nearly stock evo at the track they are usually always hitting 13's, or even 14's...... The highest my car trapped was 107, I'm not dissapointed with my car, I'm dissapointed with myself..... Everyone has thier own opinions on Tuners, I've heard a lot of great things about Al's work, so lets not Bash him please....

Bone stock I ran a 14.0, then a 13.8, then my final I ran a 13.67. I haven't gone back since I added the bolt ons. I am waiting for one last part to be put on before I go back.

Anyone running 14's in an EVO should just sell it. j/k You can hear what you want about Al but my opinion is based off of facts and a situation that i personally experienced.

Well if I don't hit 112 traps after the clutch goes in then I would agree that something seems a bit slower than it could be... no need to bash my driving or Al before that happens though.

So far I've not been able to make any passes at full power, 1st and 2nd gear on every pass has been spinning the clutch to redline and forcing me to lift off the throttle, kinda hard to draw any final conclusions until the clutch is replaced and I rattle off 1.7x or better short times with a full pass.

12.9 @ 106 is not typical , you have a fast car from the factory and drove the hell out of it off the line. 13.1 @ 105 is usually about the most you can get out of them stock, at least it was for my Evo 8 when I power shifted it and got a 1.80 short time on the stock clutch.

I thought holding it disables traction control and brake assist

that is true.

My runs were done with launch control and traction control off.

Hiboost- 112+ traps would be great to see. Please keep us updated when you go back and good luck at the track.

Take it to a real track and then see how slow it is.

i did the same thing in my IX MR. ran 12.82 @ 107.41 with just a catback, no tune, no other performance mods. put the stock exhaust back on to get out of a ticket, took it to the track and ran a 12.8 @ 107 again just with a slightly better launch. the car's capable of lower 12's, i just haven't had time to run it again. my first 12.82 run was in 45* weather with no way to go around the waterbox. i spun most of 1st gear and ended up with a 1.86 60' time. when i go back, i plan to go when it's warmer, and try to not get the tires wet. if i can get that 60' down to the 1.6-1.7 range, there's no reason i shouldn't be able to hit 12.6 in basically a stock EVO IX MR with over 100k miles and just a catback. so no, the EVO IX is not a mid to low 13 second car. it's a 12 second car all day long with a good driver. if somebody is getting high 13's and 14's in an EVO IX, it's because they can't drive lol
