Electric Fan

here is the thing...

my X has about 700 miles (have had it for about a week)
the electric fan has made a wierd thing, it kept on going as if i have not turned off the car... this has happened to me at least 2 times already..
it is very similar to the TSB/Recall for the 2004/2006 RA and Outlander models in wich the fan control unit had to be changed for this same reason....

with that said.. has someone in this comunity has had this problem? (fans on after turning off the car for a ridiculusly long time)

i am goin anyways to the dealer to get it checked out

It's completely normal and happens to a lot of people. It does that when the cars coolant is very hot when you turn the car off. it turns on to cool it off.

Read the manual!

It's really pretty loud inside a garage with the door shut, but I'll live with it.

This sounds exactly like what was going on with my 06 ralliart -- it was the fan control unit. I don't think this is normal -- I drive my X pretty hard, and have never had that happen...

If you drive the car, turn it off and then drive a little further the fan will stay on (easy way to reproduce it). Just think of it as a built in turbo timer(ish) feature. Perfectly normal on the Evo as it's a little different than the old Ralliarts....

I guess you have never read your owners manual, if you'll read it - it may answer some of you questions and you'll learn some other things.

Please drive your EVOs slow without boost for a few miles (not n traffic) before shutting down.
