Hey guys i use to own a VIII. Well i have a 08 honda fit at the moment thought i would get a practical DD to save some money. Well i just moved to pensacola FL and now i want a evo again really bad i just miss the feeling of driveing it. So i went to the dealer ship today to see if they have any used VIII or IX for sale. I could not find any on auto trader in the area. I really want a VIII or a IX for the price and i love them. But they did not have any but they did have one RR X so i test drove it for the first time. It did seem slow compared to my VIII i had. But it still felt good and felt like a good DD to have fast but not to fast. They offered it to me for $34,760 i want to say OTD. Now i'm not sure if i should wait to find that VIII,IX that i want or opt on this X. Any insight on this i could use ur help guys and glas that have made the switch thanks

 

Personally I love my X. That sluggish feeling disappears with a Tune from what I've read, even if you just lean it out heh. I have yet to find a decent tuner in my area that I trust, so no tune for me, but that will change when I move out west for sure. If you liked it well enough without any mods, and you plan on modding it (assuming here), I'd say get the X, I always buy new anyways, never want to buy used again. Could end up being a car that someone beat the **** out of you know?

 

I was in the same boat as you.. Had an 8(very modified) moved to Southern California and bought a honda S2k.. I really did like the car, but the evo flu kept bothering me.. So I was going to buy a slightly used IX, but I drove the X and fell in love. I really like the slightly more upscale feel. Handling is great. I just plan on doing a few mods, lowered, and rims. I think it would be a great daily driver.

I paid 29,999 for a base octane blue X at South Coast with 2.9% interest. What model was the X you looked at? I thought I wanted the SSS, however I don't need a sub, and I actually really like the smaller spoiler now for some reason..

I'd say if you want a "nicer" <---- very subjective DD.. Then go for the X, if you want to build a ridiculously fast evo, then go for an 8 or 9..
