There is much less difference between the Subaru Impreza and the WRX than there is between the base Lancer and the Ralliart. The WRX is a detuned STi. Subaru sell crap loads of WRX's, and the Ralliart will bridge this huge gap in the Mitsubishi lineup.

Keith

i think thats where mitsubishi screwed themselves with pricing...having the GTS top out at around 23 and the GSR starting at 32...its hard to put a car right in the middle...you make the lancerRA start at 26 for a base...and nobody wants a RA with GTS seats..so u get the recaro package...and puts you at 28,29k, only being 3k away from a evo...

on the flip side you start a RA at 26...when a top of the line GTS fully loaded..ends around 23..now check this..in 09 they offer a touring package...that includes HIDs and some other stuff..add another K for that...so now u have a lancer GTS for 24.. when you can cough up another 2k and get a RA...

with all that being said...even tho the evo to lancer gap seems big..its not as big as we all think.

You do realize you're talking about two different motors? So how is a WRX a detuned STi? That is about as insulting as saying a Integra GSR is a detuned Integra Type R. I guess just because they're both Integras...the lesser one must be detuned? Tried of people throwing that word around.

So a "regular" C6 is just a "detuned" Z06? So everything that has a lesser model is a just a "detuned" something or another.

WTF are you talking about?

If you are insulted because a detuned version of your car is sold for lower cost, you have self esteme issues of some kind.

WRX 2.5 liter turbo engine, smaller TMIC and smaller turbo.
STi 2.5 liter turbo engine, larger TMIC, and larger turbo.

Call that a totally different system if you want.... just making yourself look bad.

Keith
well , that is clearly not true at all. The S_ayc not as heavy as you think , i guess.
The supra and the Evo X is a night and day difference about handling .
If you dont notice that then ...? Why Evo?
You could have stay with the supra
The difference in handling between the IX and the X is noticable , not just in hard core racing. Period.

The Evo X MR is heavier around 160 LB then the RA not the GSR. Mainly because the heavier SST. Not the S_AYC.
The X is heavy compere to the IX, due those government safety requirements. Not the S-AYC. Remember no IX in 07?
Not to mention the heavier rimes and tires /18' 245 wide/ the bigger breaks, 18' spare tire and wheel , etc.

average daily driver, even at slow speed, will really got use for the S-AYC in rain and snow. Just watch the next couple months.

cars have more into them just an engine. And even that is not exactly a same. SO what is exactly means being detuned?
No other major components is a same, just the Evo and the RA...

So to turn this thread around a little

Can you guys spit out the names of some places that I could inquire about some RalliArt parts?

I know MitsubishiParts.net is one. What else is out there? I'm particularly interested in the tail lights right now.

My bad. It was late when I posted. For some reason I couldn't think beyond 2007 model. 2.0 vs 2.5. You're correct. I completely forgot the 2008 models share almost exactly the identical motor.

The WRX had the 2.5 motor since 2006. There is a big difference between the STi and the WRX besides the obvious power diff. Suspension, TRANSMISSION, interior, exterior diffs, dccd, etc
