I can tell you for a fact that the X's are very slow moving here in South Texas. A friend who is the new car sales manager at a local dealership has offerred any EVO X on his lot for invoice. He asked me if I would like two or three.

Anyway I guess I would say I disagree
Happy hunting out there.
Salesmen should not get paid for their work? Great, you should not get paid for working either.
Paying profit will have an impact on the economy, not huge, but some. When we pay people for their services/goods for a fair price it means they can now pay bills, buy retail items, etc. This stimulates the economy. A great deal to you does not mean a good deal for someone else.

Example: I had a guy that works for our dealership paint part of my trunk because I had an awful rust spot when I took my wing off for detailing. He said he would give me a good price ($70) since I was an employee and had my moms car touched up through his company also. I didn't take his price and shop it around 4 other bodyshops like a typical customer. I trusted him in what he was doing and his pricing. After he painted my car I was amazed at the work he did for the price. I was extremely happy! Now I could of walked away with giving him $70 and that would of been a great deal for me. But I like paying people for their work, especially when it's done right, and I saw he worked hard on it so I gave him $100. And I felt good doing
it.

Point is salesmen do actually work. Now if you get some idiot salesmen that doesn't treat you good, give an explaination about the car, offer a test drive, treat you with respect throughout the whole transaction, he absolutely does not deserve to get paid extra. Just like tipping at a restaurant. That's all i'm saying.

I paid $111 over invoice earlier this week. Nice to be back in an Evo, not quite the same as before, but nice none the less.

I believe there was a thread on Evo X forums or it might have been on this site, where the dude from SouthCoast was offering MR's for ~2000 under invoice for a couple days to hit a sales goal.

I'd imagine if you want to wait a month or two longer, those will be standard prices, maybe even less because I doubt they're moving many.

Hook me up with a good enough deal on a GSR and I will hook you up with some $ on the side to make up for the low commission

Lol ok I saw this and had to respond. I work in real estate, and EVERYONE tries to screw their real estate broker. Ask some brokers if they have ever had someone skip out on the commission. Happens all the time. Also, they will agree to one commission % and then pay way less in the end and tell the broker to sit and spin if they don't like it.

Also, most of the brokers out here are not making much more than car salesman, if any at all. Yes, one shot payout is higher, but their volume is lower. Also, the % of the sale is not all that high. If you do enough volume, you can make up for low per sale pay out. There are exceptions, but the average real estate broker is not making 30-40 times per year as a car salesman, let alone even 2 times.

And I am not a broker, I am the guy that ****s them

These responses don't indicate whether there was a trade involved.

I'm refering to a single sale. When I sell a car for invoice I make $100. When my friend sells a home he makes 3-5 thousand.

yeah, but all you have to do is just say 'yes' to an invoice deal and lead the guy into finance. get the keys and misc docs together. I think it is the dealer that makes it more complicated than it has to be. It should only take 1 minute. (not including negotiating on trades).

1. Greet the customer 2. Ask qualifying questions 3. Pick a car 4. Do a feature presentation on the car 5. Demo drive 6. Drop customer off at the door, park car back in line 7. Sit the customer down, ensure comfort, offer refreshments 8. Write up the buyers order 9. Appraise trade-in 10. Call for pay-off 11. Write up entire deal present to customer 12. Negotiate (customer determines the length of time during this process) 13. Come to an agreement, take car back to get cleaned, fill out insurance form, front of folder, get temp tag 14. Write deal in book, write deal on the board, give deal to finance 15. Get the warrenty book, go over all books with customer 16. Send customer to finance 17. In the meantime put the temp tag on the new car, or transfer plates from trade-in to new car 18. Customer gets out of finance, so now you can go over all the features and controls of the vehicle 18. Customer signs the new vehicle delivery checklist and they are on their way.

That's basically what we do.
