Anybody selling MR's at invoice yet?
I currently drive a 06 Mazdaspeed6 and I am looking into getting a base MR. I went into the local dealer here in Indy yesterday and they wouldn't come off sticker and then offered me $2k less than the low trade value on kbb for my car (which is in perfect shape and has low miles). I guess I am going to wait until they really want to sell a car.

Exactly right, the salesman does not take all of the profit from the car. If that was the case how would they pay everyone else who is on a salary? The only thing a salesman makes is actually 35-40%.
Difference is when I got my home I was happy with the real estate agent, such a pleasure to work with and very humble. Money is not the problem for me, Its the way you present yourself and the work ethics.
This thread is hilarious with all the flaming on salesmen. Good stuff, I've been thoroughly entertained and wanted to thank all who participated.
I have had good and bad salesmen, I have bought lots of cars over the years. It all boils down to supply and demand. If the product is not available now or is hard to get, you pay far more than invoice and the dealership and sales staff make more money. In this economy, cars are not selling unless they get well over 20mpg, so people pay invoice or so for them. I do not think it is cool that a seller should make very little money on a sale, but that is not the customers fault, it is the dealers. The owners I know makes lots of dough, so if the times are causing their staff to make less on a sale, they should chip in more.
