Anybody selling MR's at invoice yet?

I am seeing MR's littering Mitsu lots all over the place...are dealers starting to play ball with them yet or are they still stuck in their 2005 timewarp where the economy was strong and gas prices were cheap?

There are tons of X MR's at the dealership by me, in fact there is a bunch of GSR's also. I went and they were selling them for sticker, but tied pushing me into a lease rather than buying.....

ps anyone have the pricing sheet for the X's ???

south coast has over 100 evo's in stock, from base to MR, I think they were selling the MR for like 35k or something like that, you should check them out.

Holy smokes that is great! If they indeed are selling the base MR for 35K, it is cheaper to buy from them and have it shipped than to buy local!

I think it is funny that ALL (Toyota, ford, Nissan, GM) have to discount their trucks by thousands, BMW and Infiniti are selling their cars for less than sticker and are willing to deal, yet I keep reading reports of Mitsu not willing to budge on the price of the X.

I like the X and it may be (hopefully) my next car, but not for full MSRP. The invoice released to yahoo is $36,030, which is still usually making money for the company as it is the public 'invoice' not what dealers are paying for them. But maybe this is why they are only selling a couple hundred X (GSR and MR) each month nationwide. Sometimes it is the economy.

My MR was 41,500 or something and I paid just under 40 out the door and we have 8.25% sales tax. I'd have to look at my paperwork but it was at least 3 grand off. I put 21k down though so that may have helped grease their wheels a little bit.

What options did you get with it, and what was your total OTD with taxes price?

I got the Tech Package....NAV/Rockford/Sirius.....Apex Silver...

Out the door means with TTL (Tax, Title and License) was like $39,950. Again, just under 40. Like I said, when you show up with that much down you can bargain more. I may be off a grand, I'll have to dig up my paper work.

It depends on where you are. The MR is still rare out here, I haggled with them for 2 days, and only got down to 42k OTD. Also, it depends on the dealership, the GSR I was looking at was at a dealership where they were HURTING, and they only had the Evo GSR by mistake. I got them down to 28k out the door , but I decided on the MR. I also considered going to SouthCoast, but a reputable shipper would have been $$$, and to drive it back myself would have been @2k (lodging, etc.). So, in the end, it easier, and cheaper to just get the one here, and pay a few bills more.

$42k out the door? Isn't invoice like $36,000? That's a lot of tax!

Sales tax on cars in Texas is 6.25%. Title, License, Inspection, doc fees, will normally run $4-600.

So working backwards, lets say your price, including tax, but not T&L&Doc = $39.5k, then your purchase price was $37,175 or so, which is a great deal on an MR.

(39500/1.0625 to get that, Algebra FTW).
