Oh, I KNOW the Evo is not a "smart" buy if you will. I am looking into it because I like it and I appreciate the car for what it is. What I'm saying is that when you DO shop around it does make it more difficult to justify the purchase. I am just trying to settle myself in for a good deal and a good buy on a Evo without setting myself up for a financial catastrophe. If I was looking for a smart buy I might get a Nissa something, which are getting awesome deals and selling like hotcakes out here. Nissans and Kias.

For one, I'm not good at following along the tuner/performance crowd. I love what people do with their rides, but I don't see myself getting into it. Essentially, if I ever get an Evo, I don't see the need to drop a penny in any aftermarket performance parts. So I like the car for what it is and how it is. It's just me. On the flip side of that, I can easily afford a Lancer GTS, but it is lacking far too much excitement that the Lancer Evo brings. And as much as I can hope, I don't think the Ralliart will really fill in that gap. And yes! The wait is annoying !

Thanks

Well you can always lease(but your paying to rent a car which kind of sucks) or if you really want to keep it and are willing to get a loan for around 6 years(since you can always send more money any month you have extra and pay the car off alot faster) you can get a penfed loan or something like 5% from dealer or ur bank if possible and your payments if you finance around 32k (which if you reason alot with the dealer can get you a gsr with opitions, maybe the sss, and thats out the door. Then your payments would be around 500-530 a month. Which wouldn't be too bad at all. If you really want it, there is always a way, but don't get yourself in a money issue down the road for a car. If you can afford the way I mentioned, then like I say, you only live once dude, dont look back at your life and regret not living it how you wanted.

I was checking around posts and I heard some people actually did manage to ****** some GSRs with options at around that 32~34K range. My next step will be maybe to check with my bank/loan company FIRST and see what can they do for me, since we have some history together. Then maybe I'll go talk to the dealership. If that doesn't work out I can wait for a good deal later on or at least try and check out the Ralliart before I turn in a decision. But for the most my mind is set on the Evo.

I thank you for the opinions

Yeah man, I am pretty much in the same position as you, but I make okay money and dont have really much bills since I'm 19. I was going to wait for the ralliart and wait but like said above in other, wait sucks and not nearly as fun on track for stock or w/ aftermarket parts. Take in mind also, the ralliart is going to come out and start at around 27500 I believe. Say the dealer doesn't mark them up but since they are brand new they will not work with the msrp and even so, you'll get a MAX of 500 dollars off until a few months after their release, so your looking at 27k. All reviews and tests on the ralliart so far indicates and states that the car looses grip right away due to the small tires. Say you buy new tires and wheels for 1k which you might spend more on, but thats 28k. you need to tune the car to get more hp to keep up w/ an evo so say a tune and intake and some other small bolt ons your spending another 2k. thats already 30k. you need new suspension, breaks, etc which will run another few k. your looking at 30+ just to make it compete with the evo. South coast is selling their base gsr's for 28***k. thats damn good! I'm hoping to get a gsr with sss for 32k out the door. I hope they can do it. I'm going to south coast soon since I live only 25 minutes away. I'll tell ya how it goes. But yeah dude, if your going to keep them stock and use them then you'll save a little money on the ralliart, but if youw ant the extra performance for just a small amount more, then like me, Evo all the way. Good luck.

Save for a few more months. You'll have a larger downpayment and the economy will probably get worse.

Nice. I'm hoping to come back in november and try again. So I'll see what I can do until then. I'm thinking that because I don't want to get too much into the aftermarket part business (at least performance-wise) I might just pick up the Ralliart then, I mean it is lackign a lot but I don't have a whole lot of choice.

I'll check my bank to see what they can do to help with a 34k loan in the nov-dec timeline for either car.

And lenders will be less likely to lend....

So unless you're paying cash, don't wait too long.

I bought a GSR with SSS Nav Aero Sticker was 39... I paid 38ish OTD at southcoast... my payment is 540 with the payment saver from penfed with ZERO down... basically if you do the math ...

Pay Saver is a 60 month with a balloon... it's 100 bucks a month cheaper than the 72 month... but the balloon works out to be an extra 1800 or so K in the end...

That's what I did anyway... good luck...
