are you guys going by what the car is telling you your mpg is? i wouldnt go by that 100%... there are built in parameters that make you feel better about your "mpg" . do the miles driven/tank capacity a couple times to see if its accurate.

Driving semi conservatively I get 24MPG in mixed driving...if there is more than average stop and go traffic, 22-23.

All stop and go, 18-19.
Treating every stop light like the start of the Monaco GP, 13-15.

i've gotten worse gas mileage since my reflashes and kn drop-in.

before i could achieve 25-26 highway at like 70-75

now i am lucky if i can get 23 at same speeds and absolutely no boosting.

i actually believe the worse gas mileage to be related to not leaning out the car a little but the fact that the turbo spools a lot easier now, which burns more gas.

I am getting 11.5 consistant city driving mpg in full auto drive mode in the MR, mostly under 3,500rpm. Highway is about 19-21. Full stock. Seems way too low, but I only have 1,500 miles.

C'mon...like I was saying..real world is going to be like 16 mpg or anywhere in the 15-20 mpg range depending on your commute. I could get more than 20 mpg all the time, but you'd have to remove the turbo.

you can easily get 24+ mpg on the highway..maybe even better hand calculated, but only driving like your mother. unless you are stuck between gas stations in the desert (or Georgia) there is no reason to drive like this. You could just skip the whole expensive insurance and expensive tire issues with these cars and just get a corolla... basically about 16 in town...mmmkay?

we were asked what we get.....
I for one told you the truth. The last 4 tanks have been between 21-23 with mixed (ie combined highway and city driving). I don't drop the clutch at every light but most don't....I do accelerate faster than most around me.

In rush hour traffic, there is no reason to rev the engine etc because you are not going anywhere anyway..so sure, no advatange to an EVO so why drive it for 10 ft like your trying to get away after a bank robbery just to slam on the brakes?

to add more information..my commute is only about a mile, so I never get on the freeway until the weekend, usually (hell, the car barely warms up). when I need to get out of the house, I'll run down to the beach or to some stores wherever..usually at warp 6 at least. turning gasoline into entertainment is why I don't get 20 mpg. I guess I can afford to waste fuel anyhow because it is still only going to cost me $40 a week or so. Still, my N/A car does 17-18 in town..the evo just runs real rich when you jump on it.

My best has been 25 on a trip from Pittsburgh to DC. But only 23.5 on the way back. So I guess an average of 24 is safe to assume on freeway while cruising ONLY. If you decide to start accelerating manually, the mileage definitely goes down. On my commute to work, it gives me anywhere from 17 to 21 depending on how bad the traffic is. You gotta remember though that during the first 3000 miles, the mileage will not go over 22 by any means. I tried it and it flat out refuses to give you any mileage better than 22 per gallon.
