I daily drive my X and well.. in its stock, quite and comfortable form I tend to drive like a grandma. Weekly I average about 22mpg - not excellent, but I didn't by it for that purpose!

Best I've gotten was 24-25 and that was on a road trip to Niagara Falls.
Keeping it around 65-70mph, cruise control

Sometimes I try to drive like an old person, but it's hard to resist. I can get like 20 in the city, and on the highway it's about 24. Not too bad.

^ Thanks for the IDIOT response. Did you even read the initial post or just jump in late. I said MPG was not a major concern. Just curious about real world. Did not want to be worse than the 19-20 of my Ridgeline. My 72 Skylark is about 10-12 on a good day and 5-6 on a usual day and requires 94 (462 CI low 12 second street car...with a stock 750 QJ). My Sequoia is about 17.5 average. My 72 Vette is mid teens at best also (383 stroker).

So let me see, PRIUS. Yes, X would be about the closest thing that I own that would resemble a PRIUS. 4 cylinder economy car.

I get around 260 miles a tank. Usually put in about 11 gallons to fill the tank so roughly 24 mpg. And thats driving 80% highway.

That's a dumbass remark.

So if the Evo got 10 mpg it wouldn't be a problem right?

How is that a dumbass remark?... Everybody knows that EVOs are not gas friendly and if you are willing to buy one, then prepare for some not so good MPG... 15-24~ish.. if you want good mpg, then toyota and honda offers many vehicles for that purpose

I know quite a few exotic car owners that have about 10mpg on their lambos and ferraris... gas isn't a problem to them. So if there is some kind of GOD EVO made with averages like 10mpg, then it's probably safe to assume it'll have about 400hp+ and cost no less than 100k... if you can afford that, gas isn't a problem

BTW I get 16-18 on local and 22-25 on freeway in LA... driving like grandma and shift at 3k

Am I the only one who averages under 12mpg in City only driving? Is this normal for such little miles on the engine? Does the engine need to break in? My commute is only 4 miles and under 10 minutes between 25-40mph. I guess the car never really warms up?

I do rough 60/40 hwy/city and I get about 240/tank@12gal. So about 20mpg, I don't drive like a granny.. but when I do I barely.. I mean BARELY get 22 at best. F it, drive it how it's supposed to be driven. Love them off/on ramp curvies!

Difference is multiple. Prestige being #1. Lambo and Ferrari are NOT daily drivers. Lambo and Ferrari make WAAAAAAAAAY more power than an EVO. The rest of the money is for fit and finish and reputaion for the exotics.

I get between 22 and 23 calculated mpg (not fantasy display numbers) on the highway at 75 to 80 mph, and 23.5 when I cruise between 70 and 75. Highway speed limit in Indiana is 70 so I will not be testing out 65 mph cruising

Anyone posting numbers based on the fantasy display numbers go back and delet your posts... I get around 2 mpg better according to that than I do in reality.

Ok, this is kind of timely, as I have been working on getting better MPG in my wife's MR, especially with the gas crunch we had in the SE. So, here is what I found. If I truly granny the car, normal mode, with the car shifting, best I can get is @20 around town, and 24 on the highway, which is using the cruise. Now, for the funny part ... if I shift it, in sport-mode (quicker shifts), and granny the car, I get @24 around town, and 26-28 on the highway. Now, the real shocker is this, and I would be curious to see what others find what I did.

I recently took a long drive to get miles on the car, and I hooked up some telemetry to monitor the car while driving (gotta love having race parts left from my old VIII). Anyway, I noticed, with the cruise on, the MR never releases the throttle. Even in down-hill situations, it kept the car between 1-3% throttle. So, on the return trip, I did the throttle myself on the down hills, allowing the car to freewill down the long grades, and the MPG was 34. Yes, 34mpg for that tank. granted, it was a total pain to drive the car that way, and I am not sure it was worth the time and effort, but I was able to break the 30mpg mark. Anyway, I would be curious to see ify ou guys find the same.

I don't trust the display that tells me my average gas mileage... it is usually off.

From my calculated gas mileage using the trip meter at the gas station, I usually get 16-18 mpg daily driving. I can get up to 22mpg but that is highway cruise control at 80mph with no traffic and no turns.
