The only thing I have noticed is some drivetrain shock if you decelerate quickly and then suddenly floor it because it tends to stick in a high gear in normal mode till you kick down. I think it is because it takes some time to shift from 5th to 2nd, but meanwhile the revs are increasing quickly. I haven't noticed your problem, though. The car is perfectly smooth in stop and go traffic, something my VIII was not good at.
I agree with the luxury car comparison, when your not in stop and go traffic, it performs silky smoth. I have took my dad out for a drive and I was telling him what gear the car was in and he couldn't even feel it shift. One time I told him we were in second and then 10 seconds later under normal acceleration i told him we were in 6th gear and the only word out of his moth was WOW! My dad drives an old automatic mustang with a 351 cleveland in it and you know how that will shift (not even close to smooth), so it was an eye opener for my dad.

During my stop and go traffic, the car is shifting between 1st and 2nd only and thats where I have my issues.

1100 miles so far

two road trips into the mountains fishing.
stop and go driving.
all three modes tested.
all in all, a swell daily driver.
i am sold on the tc-sst.
cone filter to hear the turbo noise.
all i need now is an exhaust and i'll be content for a year or so.

Maybe, but you defeat the purpose of an automatic, or atleast the auomatic mode.

ive had my MR for about 3 weeks now and coming from a G35 coupe 6spd this car drives like a dream when you accel you cant feel the shift change at all! and when you feel like you need to be in control of the cause you can use the paddles or the shifter! so this is forsure and excellent choice for a DD and its always nice to just throw in auto after a long day at work and just cruise home!

in normal mode it drives like a regular car slow lol, doesnt ask to be pushed.in sport and s-sport mode its a different story the car wants you to push it.the car is totally different just from flipping that little lever for the sst.the ride is very comfortable, actually to comfortable for me.the only gripe about the ride is when you go over bridge joist, the rear tends to hop alittle.

Its real jerky sometimes, maybe when there is some seperation between the car in front of you and you can give it a little more gas then letting it idle forward. Its just not that smooth. I have tried all senerios I can think of to make it smoother during this stop and go traffic, less gass, more gas, easy on the gas, idling forward, etc. .
MOst auto trannies do that... They cant tell when you just want to hold a gear they always assume you are accelerating unless the wheel is turned sharp or brakes applied...

I drive a business car with a normal automatic transmission in Houston traffic M-F, and it is smoother than the EVO in stop and go traffic. I don't want to start a debate, its just something that I have noticed on the MR.

The MR is fine as a daily driver. When ever I need power in auto mode all I have to do is double tap the paddle shifter to go from 6-4 or 4-2.

went from 05 GSR to the new MR and i love it. It's definitely smoother but i do certainly miss the kick of my old car. Dont' get me wrong the MR still has it, just that i rarely want to do it now because it seems to chug my fuel a lot more than the old model. Normally i wouldn't mind just that i might be losing my job so i'm just conserving a bit right now...

I DD my MR & have been for the past 3 months. It works out great, but I can't resist smashing the accelerator. If you choose to drive it in Normal, then the car will react slower to shifting & will not feel like it wants to pull you as much. In Sport, it feels & sounds like it's begging you to go faster, especially when coming to a stop.
