Think I'm gonna have to snag that Ralliart one that BeyondDC found.
Anyone buy one of the official Ralliart die-casts yet??
Not really sure what scale they are, or what they're made from, but Ralliart.co.jp is selling them for 4,830 YEN (link).. which is, yikes, like $50+ USD (plus importer mark-up and shipping I'd imagine). Still neat, though.

Hotwheels also introduced the "Monster" series of the color changers. I just picked up a couple of the three (multi) colored Evo's last weekend.
(I need a Target nearby since Wallyworld is pretty limited in product offerings and organization of the store by their underpaid and disincented workforce is pretty lame (ok, almost non-existent in the toy dept))

How many X Hotwheels did they make? 12? 15?
I know that this is an old thread, I was a late-comer more than a year ago.
But I just did some checking, and someone at Mattel is crazy about the X. I counted that I have 11 different SKU's and I know I'm still missing the grey/pink-star model http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/4940/27smkg.jpg
So the post is about some interesting findings. I thought that I had 9 different "models" and SKU/collectibles to go with the car I will be buried in. I have more than one of most, as I tend to buy up to 4 or 5 at a time, I eventually buy out every retailer I find these at.
But when I laid them all side by side and tried to point out to my wife that some said "first editions", it turned out that I was 1/2 right. Some "2008 first edition" labeled model car (style, wheels, colors) were also labeled "2008 new models". They have the same hotwheel front numbers but different UPC's.
Someday my kids will be rich from odd-ball rarities of a full collection. If they don't try to play with these first!
