What I think is funny is that it looks like the STi had an upgraded turbo and the evo didn't, and yet the evo still won by a large margin. They say in the video that the sti has a stage three package plus a reflash, which included an upgraded turbo while the EVO has a stage 2 with a reflash, which it looks like on your website only consists of an intake, exhaust, and upper IC pipe. That seems like an unfair comparison but the evo still won so I guess it's all good, but if those cars were equally modded then the EVO would've crushed that STi so bad that it wouldn't even be worth watching. I think it's funny that torque TV awarded the STi the engine category when it's more modded than the evo. The EVO makes almost as much power on the stock turbo as the STI with a turbo and fuel system upgrade so I'd say that makes the 4b11 a much better engine. Not only that, but the 4b11 is just a much better designed engine for making big power, and anyone who knows anything about engine design would know that. The guys at torque TV don't know jack about cars, but whatever. Oh, and what was with the evo's bumper popping off on the side? It kept getting covered up in the video whenever it would happen, but it looked like a clip was broken or something. What happened?

I ran my car (X) CCW at SOW last month and best time was a 1:24 with an experienced driver and I personally ran a 1:31 on my 1st track day ever. There was no posted times in your link..what was the times...
If you watch the video the sti ran a 1:34 and the evo ran a 1:32. This was with modded cars as well and with a professional driver who I question the skill level of if you, an amateur, ran a 1:31 while a pro ran a 1:24. Please tell me that your evo isn't stock because if that's the case then the driver on torque TV is a joke.

I wonder if the guys over at IWSTI know about this video. I would love to see how they try to defend their baby.
Update:
They know about it. Of course they're in disbelief because the STI is so much lighter and it has more power. But stock the STI is lighter and has more power yet it still loses on the track and everything else except drag. What they don't know is that the Evo gains so much power from a tune and like the guy from Harman Motive said it exaggerates any other mod from there on. Throttle response is so good on the Evo after a tune, the results of this comparison don't surprise me. Here's their link:

They had to give something to the sti such as the engine category. It got beat up in the test so bad that the subaru croud is going to call foul anyway.
Edit: Just read the link
they're pissed.

Lol, I looked at that link and the subaru guys are pissed. In their defense, they are right about the STi getting bogged on launch and that screwing the 1/4 mile times. If you look on harman motives's website and go to the blog section, they talk about the torque TV test and say that there was difficulty in launching the STi so the 1/4 mile times were a little off. They did say, however, that the lap times were very accurate as those are based on rolling starts so the STi guys can whine all they want but the evo is just better. What they don't realize is that although the numbers on paper seem high, the STi has a crappy power band and the area under the curve sucks. I used to own one, I would know. They make a wallop of torque and then it falls on it's face over 1000 rpms before redline and horsepower never really has a chance to develop or carry over. The evo doesn't make quite as much torque, but it has a much flatter torque curve and the horsepower keeps climbing all the way to redline. That combined with longer gears makes for a faster car. Suby FTL.
