The thing that kills me is why does it matter if you have a phone on you. my wifes lex has the push start and keeps her key fob in her purse with 2 phones and she never has a problem. ???
Because those keys have the EMI shield that the mitsu keys SHOULD have come with. The new part apparently fixes this problem, or so says Mitsubishi.

just got back from the dealer and they gave me two NEW keys according to the TSB. They said they should be better with dealing with cell phones but still to try and keep them apart. Both keys work great.

And for the record, putting the key back in the FOB is not a traditional thing to do, it should be labeled more clearly on the key and it should lock in when you put it back in there. Its a design flaw IMO.
