BASE GSR with NO SSS?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering those with the BASE GSR with no SSS, are you guys happy with your decision, or? I'm thinking about getting a BASE GSR with no SSS... however, I do want the HID's though. Is there any other way to get HID's except for SSS? SSS is for sight, sound, and spoiler correct? I don't know. Definitely not worth the extra 2k for me.

When I bought my EVO IX a few years back, I got the GSR model no HID...

It was the biggest headache trying to retrofit the HID's from an SSL or MR EVO and I eventually gave up.

So this time around I bought a GSR with SSS... and I am glad I did.

When buying a car get the options you want.

I think the 2K is a pretty good deal. I heard the base radio develops a rattle? Also the aftermarket HID's don't have all the components and tend to blind oncoming traffic. I think the small wing looks pretty bad.

My M3 came without HIDs. Cost me $800 to add them and it was a huge PITA.

I would definitely say get the SSS package. HIDs are a must and the Rockford audio equipment isn't bad either.

if its a daily driver and u want some ammenities go with the SSS package, if you were gonna buy it for tracking or just for performance then the base GSR would be a better decision

FAST key and HID make it worth it alone, the wing and stereo system are a bonus.

Where there is a will there is a way. In this particular instance I think the most efficient means to deal with the situation in to fork over the additional cash for the SSS package. You could probably do the HID conversion a bit cheaper on your own but factor in the PITA factor and you are better off with the SSS.

from what i have read from forumers it seems a majority feel the extra $ for the SSS is worth it, myself included. also, from the people here who didnt get the SSS and are trying to retrofit HID, i believe they are having a hard time figuring out as well.

I had the dealer set a non SSS and SSS next to each other to compare the lights. HUGE difference and the SSS was the way to go for me. I didn't care about the stereo or fast key but the HID's made it worth it.

I do not have SSS and have no desire to add it. I'll never understand the obsession with fancy headlights that populates this board. I can see just fine at night with the regular ones.

My car is a daily driver too.

I'm not exactly considering a X any time soon, but all I know is that after owning a car with HID's, I don't think I could ever buy another car that didn't have them. In fact, that was one of the selling points in my opinion - they are just that much better. Just get the SSS and be done with it...you'll be kicking yourself if you don't.

My last three cars had HIDs prior to my X. Never really noticed a difference in visibility other than the color.
