New Evo!! New Problem!

Well, i finally got me an 08 evo..... :;sighs:: ::smiles::......... also noticed one problem: I was in 4thgear and gave it alot of gas (couldnt help it), it started off fine but after about 2-3 seconds, it felt/sounded like if i had taken my foot off the gas and then quickly put it back on. It was like if it stopped revving up just for a fraction of a second, then continued on back up. I was like wtf and of course had to try it again just to make sure it wasnt a one time thing. Sure enough, I hit the gas pretty hard and before i needed to shift to 5th, the car kinda stopped, then picked back up again. Any explanations? Thanks in advance

well, after reading a few more threads, im assuming this is the "hesitation" everyone is talking about?

I talked to the dealer I got my Evo from and they told me straight up the only way they will reflash is if I throw a check engine light. I told them about the stuttering from 5-7k rpm in 3rd and 4th gear. They told me it was the STOCK turbo in the new evos... that thats how they perform....

question is what did you guys do to get it reflashed and should I keep at it or take more "drastic" measures to get the service department to get off their asses and do something?

you're gonna have to wait til the CEL comes out if you're dealer ask for it haha

i had the same problem when i first got mine. I went in and asked for the reflash but the CEL didn't show so I didn't get it. Then about 5 months later, the damn light finally popped out and I went in and got the reflash lol.

I don't know remember what I did to make it show, but yeah it sucks and you might have to wait like I did /sigh

go to the dealer and see if your car has the most updated flash or get a tune this will definately help; but possibly void your warranty.
