Snow/Ice Patch Vs. Stock Tire Evo
Today had to be the worst day for the car. Here in Chicago it rain last night and then quickly freeze over and snowed 3-4 inches. So I drove my car all the way to work, but right when i'm 100ft away from the parking lot entrance I must of hit a slippery patch at 15-20mph ONLY, and the car veers off and clip a god damn 2 feet tall lawn boulders and now my oil cooler is damaged and leaking oil. This is a sad day for the Evo. Pics will come soon once I get to the shop. Anyone else got into any other accidents on the first day of snow. The irony was that I was suppose to install my new All Season tires at CostCo today and instead i'm going to the auto shop to fix my car.
Warning to everyone, get your winter tires asap. I regret not getting them sooner which I could of totally avoided this accident. There was practically no traction the whole way to work. Even the slightest turn at speeds of 10-20mph your sliding off the road.

And Colorado is Texas' playground so I've had plenty of fun in the snow
I just don't have to live with the **** everywhere all winter long

That sucks. Are you new to Chicago? I put some Dunlop WinterSport 3D's on my X weeks ago, so by now they are all broken in and ready to provide amazing traction. Hope you learn from this bad experience.

God Bless California!!!
but no snow days! but I lived in Michigan during my school days, so I still expierenced that!
100s in the Summer with lots of sun, 20s in the Winter with lots of snow, and 70s in between. God bless... oh well, you guys win, but I love it here
And we don't get snow days usually... We're all competent enough drivers to drive in deep snow.
No, really the snow plow teams here are AMAZING, and we're all pretty decent in the snow.
Anyway, clearly he knew he needed to change his tires and just wasn't expecting the bad weather is all. I need to take mine in to get changed to winter tires too, just haven't had time. Everything's been too crazy busy this time of year.

Even "all weather" aren't all weather. I've tested many vehicles and the different compounds made from an actual winter tire, all season, and summer tire. Very much different. Just something to look into...be safe!
i went to school @ SIU and i could not believe how little snow it took to shut down every thing.
although...some how, some people COMPLETELY forget how to drive in the snow when the first snow fall happens. this happens every year!
by the way, i love my blizzaks. sometimes i wish my drive to work was longer :P
doesnt matter with that summer ruber on, it gets rock hard and gives zero traction on ice/snow wet pavement when its cold.
yeah but dont you have crazy *** emission **** laws in Salt Lake?
