Evo X vs IX quarter mile times

Long ago I remember reading about how inferior the 4B11 was going to be compared to the 4G63. Fast forward and I believe we have seen the the 4B11 can handle some serious power based on some of the results we have seen from the Red and other turbo upgrades.

Weight was the other big issue. I'm curious what the recent summer has proven. Given identical awhp, what are the times coming out for these two vehicles. In other words - what is that weight costing us.

For example, a 350awhp Evo IX runs on around x.xx in the quarter and an Evo X at 350awhp runs a y.yy. Yes, driver skill, track prep, weather, are all factors - but in the ballpark is the difference a few hundredths or a few tenths - with actual times to back it up?

In addition, has anyone stripped down a X - how light can you get them to counter this?

Mine is not stripped. And mine is below 3300 LB. with full tank of gas.
Some after market stuff , empty trunk, no crash beams.

If you look at JDM model, its easier to see the actual gain:

IX RS - 1310kg
X RS - 1420kg

IX GSR - 1420kg
X GSR - 1530kg

So ultimately there is 110kg difference, which is about 242.5lbs. The gap between IX and X was big in the states due to the fact that all USDM IX did not have AYC and the X did, which is suppose to be at least 120lbs.

You will gain back at around 20lbs difference for replacing front seats to something lighter, as IX seats weighed like 37lbs or so, and X seats are closer to 50lbs, both figures for one seat and with rails etc. For the rest, it may be hard to 'reduce back' the weights as X is taller, wider and longer car with more safety features, along with bigger and wider wheels and tires and bigger brake system. The exhaust shouldn't matter much as IX's single were already insanely heavy.

The IX is about 3mph and 3 tenths faster with the same whp. As mods stack on, the IX has an even greater trap speed advantage due to the prohibitive gearing in the X causing it to hit the rev limiter sooner (top of fourth). A reflash can cure this, but the weight is the biggest issue to overcome, IMO.

very soon you need a doctor, go out and walk or do something...

On topic:
The rear crash beam is ridiculously heavy, a lot more then a IX have. There is also 2 tow hook at th rear, those are also no joke
The JDM and the AU or EU evos dont have spare wheel, they got a pump kit instead. So there is also some LB saving . if any one picked up the X spear wheel they know how heavy is that+ tools. Also the rear seats now have metal bars, not like the IX . ETC. But every of those is an easy job to remove them.

here is my weight with full tank of gas, no small battery yet, both crash beam still on it, and the tow hooks are still there.
Now those are removed and got a small battery too. Spring time gets two bucket seat and some interior removal, like stero -speakers rears seatbelts etc. Hope fully will be or below 3200lb .

It redistributes torque in the rear differential to help eliminate understeer.
