Some dealers are silly
Funny you should say that. I casually asked the service manager when I was last in there whether they would still be around in the future. He looked at me with grim resignation and told me that he couldn't guarantee it. He then confessed that sales are absolutely abysmal. Interestingly, though, he was of the opinion that the demand side of the equation isn't the main reason. It's the finance side. People still want to buy cars (albeit it fewer and fewer) but those people simply cannot get financed. Banks aren't touching anybody unless they are near-perfect. The credit tightening could prove to be the main culprit in the demise of dealerships more than the fact that people just don't want to buy cars.
Is the X really that bad? My VIII with tbe and tune got 27 mpg when hauling me and 4 wheels/tires out to the track. The Porsche gets 30 on the freeway if I drive nicely... Unfortunately, I can't drive nicely. Ouch. Oh well, the Evos have always shined in city driving if you stay off boost. I miss getting an easy 20 city... Now I gotta struggle to get 18 city.
29 MPG? If you're on a flatbed maybe. It's amazing how unwilling some Mitsu dealers are to haggle with customers especially considering the economic turmoil in the auto world and the imminent arrival of the 09's.
here in Louisiana - dealer priced a used GSR with the navi kit - $35k --- haha ... new MR was over $40... they asked what they could do to get me in one i said take off at least $8k on the MR with a serious face i think he didn't know what to say
