I highly discourage hiding spare keys anywhere on or inside the car. If your girlfriend is more responsible than you, leave your keys in her purse.

thanks for everyones help! i found the issue!! i didnt realise you have to put the handle end of the emergency key into the keyless remote!! i found this on the net:

Is there an emergency key for the FAST-key?

Yes, there is! In the event the battery dies in your FAST-key fob, you will still be able to start your car! First remove the ignition knob "cap" in your vehicle by slightly depressing the sides of the cap. Next, release the emergency key (looks like a "regular" key) from your FAST-key fob: If you turn your key fob over, there is a button on the back of the fob that releases the silver emergency key. Once released, remove the emergency key, turn it around, and place the end of the key (where the ring is) in the key fob. Insert the key into the ignition and turn the engine over. (You must make sure the FAST-key fob is attached/touching the emergency key when starting the engine; the emergency key does not snap into the FAST-key fob so you may have to hold the key and the fob when turning the key in the ignition. Once the engine has started, you can remove the FAST-key fob, leaving the emergency key in the ignition, and place the fob in a secure location.) You can now drive to your local Mitsubishi Dealer in order to have your vehicle diagnosed. You can also find additional information in your Owner's Manual about the emergency FAST-key operation.

this solved me problem! i knew it was just a user issue!! i wasnt told anything about that when i bought the car from the dealer!!
so glad it was only something simple like that

the website i got this information from is:

http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j...rs-site/faq.do

however im also having another issue! any auto electricians here? lol

the fuse blew for my cigarette lighter which i use to plug my ipod into the play music through my radio, so i replaced it, and it worked. then blew again straight away the next day!!

any thoughts on what the issue could be??
im worried about just replacing the fuse again in case it blows again and there is an underlying issue!

im a girl and dont know anything about cars so any thoughts/ideas/comments would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Depending the adapter your using to charge your ipod that could be the issue. Change that or use a higher fuse say a 15 instead of a 10. If it still blows the fuse id say make a dealer run.

Something is obviously drawing too much power, causing the fuse to blow. Replacing it with a higher amp fuse may work. Better solution (if you're up for it) is to add a distribution block and get the main power from the ignition wires. Then custom-fabricate a custom USB power socket separate from the cigarette lighter to one of the open slots on the power distribution block. Then you can power additional accessories such as gauges, etc... and tap them directly from the distribution block.

Then again... I can't imagine a single iPod that's plugged into the cig lighter will cause the fuse to blow. I have my iPod powered from the cig lighter socket too and it also powers the GoPro camera at the same time (from the same cig lighter socket).
