Ah ok, then he can hold on to his 08 X until '10. For X vs XI vs XII arguments, the OP would be one of the few people that can say 'I have test driven all three and so and so change was superficial and ____ was definately a peformance improvement' and so on

I guess that is a true statement for every model of every car ever. It will be discontinued at some point. But I've heard nothing of the evo being discontinued in the near future. They just developed an entirelly new chasis, engine, and transmission for it. I doubt they are gonna abandon it anytime soon.

buy the basic bolt ons ... springs/coilovers, intake, IC piping, FMIC, TBE, etc
get yourself a COBB AP ...
every 15k ... swap your parts back to stock, pick up your new X, slap your parts back on, plug and play your COBB AP ... bam you're set
