I ordered new redline oil to top it off, ive got to options rebuild my trans with stage 1 kit and new housing or buy a used transmission with 6000 miles, both about the same price.

Which brings me to my next question: Have you checked the oil level? Are you sure it's high enough to be driving around on? You never mentioned topping off due to the oil that has already leaked.

Before you go and jump into replacement, may I make a few suggestions:
(1) Go to someone that knows this tranny and ask if the dent could have at all damaged the inside gears; you could for example send some photos to John Shepard for he has had some experience with the X tranny. That said, I do not think something serious has been done for it appears to shift and sound ok?
(2) If (1) reads it is ok, then I would go to someone that has welding experience to cast metal. Ask if it would be possible to simply weld a piece to the tranny to stop the leak; I just do not know if you can put some heat here and get away with it after you drain everything out, of course.
Just a suggestion here that may be a possibility.

I talked to John Shepard a little bit ago and he can rebuilt my trans to a stage 1 and replace the housing for 1250.00 now I still have to pay for it to be taking out and shipped there and back so ill probably have 2000 in it. I didnt want to spend any more money right now but what do you do.

Hey, I feel your pain but look at this way: You get the leak fixed and you have a stronger tranny than OEM, the latter being sort of a bonus.
