Will replacing seats render the airbag useless on an EVO X?

So we decided we are going to go with a set of the bride vorga for my GF's Evo X. i know that replacing the seats will bring up the srs light on the cluster but will it really know if it will physically disable the air bag in case of an accident?

the dealer will tell you your airbags MAY not deploy in an accident. they will not give you a 100% answer because of liability.

As said. So far, nobody is sure.

In the end, its your call. Do you appreciate the safety that the airbags provided?

Airbags is something that nobody appreciated (like spare tyre) as it is there, but nobody use it on a daily basis. "I just drive safety...I never need them... blah blah".

Of course, no one wanted to get into an accident that will deploy the airbags.

But you never know in life, & one fine day you met with a serious accident (touchwood) the airbags could be the deciding factor between something seriously to the driver & passengers, or just a totalled car.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Well said!

There are hundreds of thousands of idiots on the road, and as much of a good driver you may be, it takes one moron to place your life in jeapordy.

The safety features of the X are a great improvement over the previous generation Evo's-Take advantage of them

I think the correct word is petite

Anyway, just a shot in the dark. Maybe you can have a shop that does seat wrapping or so) to stuff some cotton or foam to the original seat to make create support (before sewing the seat back).

my wife had a similar problem (she's 5 foot 2 inches) and after we raised the seat 1 inch on the front, and the rear 2 inches, she's much more comfortable in the seat. For some reason, the slight tilting forwards makes the chair much more tolerable for her and she states she doesn't feel like she's sitting on a clam.

Nope it shouldn't. The airbags system have a capability to deploy independently. For safety reasons.
So even if it one fails, it is still working with the rest of the airbags.
So if you remove the seats the dash board steering and curtain should work.

My nine i didn't have a passenger bag and my steering wheel airbag still worked

There are plenty of seat cushions available to raise someone's height in a car. Just do a Google search for car seat cushions and see what you find. Both Brookstone and Driving Comfort have an assortment available. That way you can remove it when you change drivers. It would be a lot easier and cheaper to try that first.
