I've used OEM filters on my Evos and typically get really good deals by buying in bulk (typically about $4/filter). I use Purolator filters on my truck and haven't had a single issue. I think it really comes down to your oil changing intervals...but any of the higher end filters will be just fine.

As others have stated...avoid FRAM.

If you're too lazy to get under the car to take out the drain plug...just have the dealership do it.

I think it really all comes down to personal preference. If you want to stay with an OEM filter than do so......nothing wrong with that imo. I just have always run Mobile 1 filters on my cars, and have never had issues so I will stick with it. I gladly pay $11.99 for the filter too.
