So I went to the car show in D.C. and...
It is a car show in NASCAR country, I wouldn't expect many people to know or care about Mitsubishi's offerings.
This is the land of the chrome grill, the SUV, the minivan, the push rod V8.
The country that only makes one proper car every single year (Z06).

I was at the auto show in Raleigh NC last week and the Evo X MR generated a lot of interest. Unfortunately, unlike just about every car on the floor (including a C63 AMG, three different Maseratis, and an Audi R8), the Evo was locked with the windows shut, which disappointed a lot of the show-goers.
Here in America the evo is a "rice burner."
That is the reason why I like cars like Evo.
Most people have no idea what these cars are all about in the states.
It is a sleeper in a true form, especially when you take the spoiler off.
You can give me a Kia or Hyundai for free, and I would be ashamed to drive them.
Most people don't know or remember that Hyundai originally was assisted and emulated by Mitsubishi to start their line. They are pedigreed by Mitsubishi.
Some might remember cars like Hyundai Excel, which was actually based on a Mitsubishi engine for the Korean company.
They might be cheaper, and better value, but for me they are just a compromise.
I would hate to see all of us driving Excels,Camrys, Accords etc.
What a boring world that would be!!
For me, I will always support car companies with independent thinking, like Mazda with the Rotaries, Mitsubishi with the Evos, Subaru with Symmetrical Boxer engines, etc.. Thanks for letting me blabber!

I'd say Hyundai is doing quite well at this time, and it'll be interesting to see their position in the market 5 or 10 years from now.
Watch Top gear on Monday....Even Clarkson et al, like some of the new US cars.

Being the top car anywhere near it's class has given Mitsubishi a BAD attitude. No test drives, no rebates, locked cars and no 09's.....are they joking?
I ran out an bought a pretty little 09 Outlander, but there will be no Evo in my driveway unless they offer some rebates and start acting like they actually want to sell some cars!
R.
Interesting perspectives. I would hope Mitsu decides to scrap some of their poor selling US cars and bring better ones over, and restore brand image.
All in all, I like my car but just shared what I saw. Weird that one dude saw 12 people around the WW MR, I saw ZERO people around it and it was unlocked the whole time.

New episode for the US on Monday...I have already seen it. He likes more than 1...actually, he is pretty fond of Fords. Thought the Ford mini-van was the best they tested, liked the focus alot (Euro version coming to the states in a year), bought a Ford GT.... He also selected the convertable Crossfire in the soft top challenge against the Audi and 350z. Liked the Aussie and Voxhall (GM) versions of the Pontiac G8. He just hates the cheap slush boxes like the sebring and thinks that if you are going to add 500HP to a car, you should do something about handling.
