Help after IC install

Hey guys, well I finally got my ams intercooler and UR intercooler piping installed properly and was able to put it to the test today. Is it just me or are the "blips" alot more noticable? Before the intercooler i had/have the same problem a bunch of people have at full throttle. Every once in a while while under full throttle, the car would hesitate for a less than a second than keep going, all while the gas pedal is floored (not clutch slipping, car "blipping"). I hadnt noticed it for a while but today once i installed the IC and took it for a spin, it was alot noticeable and did it more often. Anyone else have this problem? Was i suppose to reset the ecu or something?

The problem you are having may be from the terrible factory tune and how it reacts with increasing boost. The Evo is extremely rich from the factory and as you increase the boost, it becomes even more rich. By changing the FMIC, your boost could have rised a little thus making the AFRs even richer. The chokes you're having may be from the overly rich AFRs causing some misfire, a tune should take care of that right away.

Do you you have a leak somewhere? Did you tighten down the couplers all the way?

after reading other people's problems with installing an ic, i made real sure to screw the couplers as tight as i could w/o bending the pipe lol. So I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.

hopefully I"ll be able to go get a tune in a few weeks. Guess I'll take it easy until then.

another quick question though, on the front bumper there is a section between each foglight and the center section. the section near the driver side foglight is blacked in while the passenger side is just the mesh grill. Only reason i could think for it would be incase you had an intake routed down there. Am i right to assume this? Im pretty sure i have the bumper on incorrectly b/c my driver side isnt matching up perfectly and i can't screw in the screw that goes in the grill/mesh b/c it doesnt line up on the driver side. I took it off and tried to line itup again but I dont see what's getting in the way.

That grill is covered up on GSRs only. You can purchase the MR grill which is a open type. The MR has the grill since the SST oil cooler goes in there. Since there is no SST oil cooler for the GSR, Mitsubishi decided to block it off on the GSR
