hrmm tricky choice:

2008 model is out NOW, and you should be able to get a bargain.

2010 model WONT be released UNTIL most of the 2008 stock is sold, thus you don't have a firm ETA...

Also will there really be anything different, probably not... maybe:
1) more power - easy fixed with a tune on the 2008
2) rear lights - easy fixed with the ralliart rears
3) another colour - i like black anyways
4) ... ?

If you can get 10%+ off the RRP for an 08 model I say go for it... You WILL have to pay retail for the 2010.

Cheers

is there any website from mitsu that would tell you how many 2008 models are still available?
i have made a search on several dealers and they still have plenty of them left but what about an official number from mitsu??

there's quite a few of the '08's left. You'll never see these prices again either cuz there's no '09. The 2010 isn't going to have that many changes.

the only possible difficulty is the banks aren't as easy about financing an '08.

Just get it now, life is too short to put it off for what may be a slightly different car. When the 2010s come out, you will want the 2011 anyways. Just make sure you get a good price. I don't know what RRP means, but don't pay over invoice and try to get it for less.

edit: take into account that the resale will be based off it being an 08 even though you bought it in 09 when you haggle, because it will eat up a lot of the savings you got by waiting to get a good deal on on 08

With the worst economy in 70 years, you can probably afford to wait 10 months and see if and when the 2010 Xs are coming out. There should still be some 08 left over to get a killer deal on them if the financial jump for the 2010 is too much. I am anxious to see what changes are in store for the "10" Xs since there may be no 09s.

if i was you id say wait, only because i feel the dollar will rise in value against the yen.
when this happens the car will be cheaper or the same price as we have now.
my 2 cents
if it was me (spontaneous shopper) id buy it now

I think the only difference for the 2010 is going to be stuff you can buy if you feel the need to have it.

Just think, If you buy it now. You could be enjoying it now. But if you wait, you will prob get anxious and get the itch to buy anyways.

If you plan on haveing it for a while I don't see a problem when it comes to resale. I bought my car knowing I want to have this car last for atleast 5+ years and by then it wont matter much if i had an 08 or 2010
