Question Idle issue and die

Ok, I have a 2008 Evo X GSR that I bought around 2 weeks ago. Today when I started the car, I held the clutch in and was doing something with my phone and I noticed the idle was dropping from the 750rpm mark to under 500rpm and then back up and then it went back down and died. I started it back up and it did it again. The third time I started it, I blipped the throttle a little and it never did it again. I have 800 miles on the car. No mods. Still breaking it in. No CEL. Nothing else to note. Any ideas?

No reflash. TSB or aftermarket. Either way nothing.

go to the dealer and have them reflash your ECU or have a tune. that will take care of your problem...

Yes, completely stock.

Before you go for the ECU reflash, why not try this. It works for me...

Go buy a HKS drop-in Hybrid filter.. and it will improve your idling.. better airflow into your air intake.

Mitsubishi released two reflashes for the X. To check if the dealer already flashed your car, pop your hood and look on the top left. There should be a white sticker there that says the date it was flashed. If you don't have that then, take it to the dealer and request for the reflash. It should be free.

I just talked to a buddy yesterday and he said before the reflash, his car would stall out and die also.

just tell them that you need a latest reflash on your vehicle cause your RPM bounce up and down and die also, they know what to do.

^^^ Yea there are lots of threads about the idle issue. If the reflash doesn't help you then get a tune and that will.

As mentioned - get the reflash. The dealership should know. Why it didnt come with the reflash already is the question.. but anyways you will feel the difference immediately.

Reflash is garbage, it only is a partial fix just save your self the trouble and get a tune. Had my X reflashed and it only helped alittle but here and there it still dies at start up.
