I just apply paint tape where possible on long drives and always apply tape at the track, all over the front part of hood, headlights, etc. Except you can never win!

You all think the factory paint is sh*t or about the same as every other car out there?

Agreed

Having already been said that our paint is basically the thinnest car paint out there...

Clear bra for front of car and rockers/ rear doors.
Wash and wax at least once a month.

Since ive started doing this, no more annoying rock chips on doors or rockers, and *knock on wood* no more new scratches.

-Dont go down without a fight!

nono, factory paint is **** with an exclamation mark. i've had two toyotas and a honda, none of their paint were as weak as my x's.

i mean, i took off paint from BUFFING. yeah my buffer is strong, but i've buffed my other cars for at least four years and never once i took paint off of it, yet the paint on the x came off after buffing once!?

For me...after the snow I had lots of scratches/swirlies. My fault though for trying to use QD to wipe down the car. :-P Oh well....4 hours with a PC + polish pad + PoliSeal and the swirlies/scratches are 95% gone. The other 5% is because I didn't have great lighting to see where to polish more thoroughly. LOL.
