remember i brought this up at the fudruckers meet? looks like im not the only one who has a hard time getting those tabs to go into place.

this thing drives me crazy. i'll open and close that stupid air box a bunch of times before i feel comfortable with it. usually when i do that it seems like it fits more snug and edges of the filter and air box are nice and straight with each other.

Those bottom clips are ridiculous. The only way I could get them right was to totally remove the airbox from the car, seal it up with my filter, then put it back in. I simply could not get them together until I did that.

Honestly, it only took me about 15 minutes to take out and replace the air box. So if any of you guys are really paranoid (like I was), just do that. It only requires removing a couple of plastic pop-screws and 3 bolts.

wow! I had a bad idle issue and checked the air box. Just push and pull on the air box. If done wrong it will flex and you will know the bottom tabs are not in the right places. If its put together right it is very solid.

The idle issue was a vacume line under the plastic valve cover. It came off and when put back idle issue was gone. Check the vacume lines.

if the bottom isn't attached properly, as mentioned, you can still clip the top. however the right side clip won't line up properly. Just reach your hand down along the sides and feel the bottom. It's a 2 sec check and easy as hell to fix.

if it isn't attached properly then unclip the top 2 clips and remove the airfilter (as mentioned it's impossible to clip with the air filter in, but take it out and it's soo easy. Just hook the bottom correctly and then stuff the airfilter back in. now clip the top and the side should be lined up and attached correctly as well.
