Alrighty, so I have a cold air intake for my 2011 lancer es. I put it on and the car runs like a absolute bag. It has no power, won't idle, stalls, the check engine light comes on etc. I thought at first maybe it was getting to much air but if I put only half the air box on with the maf sensor plugged in it runs perfectly fine and doesn't throw any codes. I'm used to older cars that you just slap something on and it generally works, This has me at a loss. Any help or ideas of what could be causing this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

What intake is it? Is you MAF sensor installed properly, what code is the CEL?

 

I can't remember the code it was throwing but my girlfriends brother is a machinist and made one for me, the maf sensor is installed properly as it only goes one way, I'm thinking the sensor isn't sitting at the right depth in the intake tube.

 

Tried it again trying to trouble shoot it, the code coming up is P0068 MAP/MAF - Throttle Position Correlation

 

maybe your friend didn't tighten the clamps all the way so theres a leak somewhere while the engine is trying to suck all that air. imagine trying to breathe through a straw
