Evo X electrical issues
Lots of good points on this one, but the bottom line is do you really want to buy a car that has exhibited electrical problems? These things can be a major pain to deal with once you drive off the lot.
A dead or jumped battery is not going to cause the kind of stuff you were seeing... just my 2 cents.

That's not true. The car's electrical system runs off of the alternator (which also charges the battery) when the car is running. The only thing the battery is needed for is starts. Some friends and I have bought Hondas without batteries before, put a battery in them to start them, removed the battery, and then driven them home running on just alternator power. If your alternator is healthy it works fine.
Yes. That's correct. However, you still need to check if your alternator is working.
That's why you need to check if the battery lamp lights up. If it does, then everything is connected and alternator is getting juice from the battery. A closed circuit then.
I think the issue is that the car he is looking at has alternator issues somewhere in the system.

I'm kinda over it now, since the dealership didn't want to negotiate and plus the fact that the car had those issues. I'll just go somewhere else, unless of course, if they give me a killer deal which I doubt. LOL!
it sounds like the dead battery could be the problem.
however, just keep this in mind.
there is a special place in hell for car salesmen. they will tell you anything, ANYTHING, to get you to buy a car. i cant put it any better then this...
DONT BUY THE CAR UNTIL IT IS IN 100% working condition, period.
however, just keep this in mind.

this is incorrect. maybe for a honda it would work, without having ANY accessories on. the battery is 100% necassary for every aspect of the vehicle, especially when accessories are on, which is when you are saying the car is having the problems.

The battery is not necessary for any aspect of the vehicle besides powering everything before and during starting (ie when the alternator is not producing any electrical power), and acting as a capacitor in the event your stereo draws excessive load when you have it cranked or you initially turn your headlights on and the ballasts charge up. Nothing else in the car's electrical system changes load more than those two.
During normal driving, the battery is just another load off of the alternator and is being recharged.
Edit: the battery's capacitive effect is somewhat insignificant in comparison to the on-board voltage regulator anyways.
