ACD C1219??? help
I just pulled away from a stoplight, and i notice my car was not responding when i pushed in the gas a little. so i listen carefully shift from 4th to 5th and then try acceling again. the car responded but then i recieved the ASC light come on. pull the code w/AP and it says ACD C1219, anyone know what this is? the rest of the way home, i took it easy. i listened carefully and think i can hear a rattle of some sort, very suttle coming from under the rear passenger side seat/wheel? hard to narrow it down, but i can hear it a lot better with the windows up? mods are listed below,stg 2 map. thanks in advance

•G and yaw rate sensor malfunction

no, but i did have a wierd click sound and the wheel gave me some resistance as making a turn. I am in the process of removing the wheel/column now. hopfully its just something that will clip in.
anyway, after removing the wheel, the news is not good. I have some pictures, just need to upload. after the wheel is removed there is a piece of equipment used for sensing the steering wheels position. (I think) either way on the front in a big bold yellow sticker it says "do not try to repair...blah bla la...must replace whole unit at one time, and must be calibrated IAW the service repair manual" in three different languages... lol, they really don't want you to mess with that thing. anyway, that snap sound i heard when i attempted to make a turn was the sensor popping out of the clips that hold that whole assembly together, I am pretty sure that piece is fckd.
i did manage to clip it back together sot that the one piece isn't just flinging around, but i will have to manage to get my car back to stock asap, to go to the dealer! wonderful!!!
in the meantime does anyone know if and or how bad it would be to drive the car w/this sensor, messed up and the asc light on. im assuming since the asc light is on, it would disable all automatic adjustments to the stability of the vehicle. so the sensor should not be sending bad information to the vehicles awd stability controls, right?

yea, it does look like a clock spring all wound up, what i don't understand is wtf happened tha made it pop out??? I hate taking my car to the dealer, is there a way to find out how to calibrate it if i were to get a new one?
Fyi, went on a test drive today, to see how the car would react to me reassemlbling the steering sensor. The ASC light does not come on anymore, however because of the sensor popping out it is obviously out of calibration. seems to over correct on slightly moving the wheel to the left. it actuall gets worse if i disable the ASC, a lot worse. now, with that being said, it think my sensor may still be good, just need it calibrated

i got the same problem. need to go to the dealer to recalibrate. you MUT-III scanner to re calibrate. for peace of mind change the whole steering sensor ($139) and recalibrate at the dealer.

yea, after reading the service manual online it says i need the mitsu service tool to calibrate it. I know i can get the clock spring brand new for 139 online, but the dealer will probably rape me on it, before hand. Kinda thinking that they would cover this under warranty, no?
to the OP:
just replace the sensor and have them calibrate it. It will not take them more than an hour. (rate: $70/hr in South coast mitsu)
