Exactly so why not do the oil changes at 3,000 miles? Nobody can say cost because nearly everyone here has mods. You need to take care of the car before you mod it.

Just wondering, should you take off mods such as intake/exhaust before going to the dealership for service?

I change my oil roughly every 2500 miles. Who cares, it costs 50 dollars and takes 20 minutes. Cheap insurance imo.

The dealer where i got my car is wack....but they gave me 4 free oil changes. Ill be there at least every 2500. Then Ill take over the task aswell. Oh and if it applies to you get the Dealer Flash
In order to qualify for this flash, a few things need to be present:
- Hesitation above 5,000 rpms.
- Low idle that occasionally dies out.
- Random misfiring throughout the powerband.

If these things are not present, you are not qualified to get the re-flash, because that would mean you already have it.

This flash does not apply for MRs, as they already have the updated maps.

And this is for the Evo X only.

It's up to the dealership of record to do this flash for you. If you purchased the car out of state, a local dealer can do it for you, if they so choose.

Actually, dude at the mitsu dealer told me that the computer just randomly chooses to give that service for free. Mine just happened to be my first. He said it happens pretty often, but not all the time.
