Haha not complaining about the new car smell, I have had the car for 8 months now! =)
I guess it would be a good reason for me to get a big *** air freshener.

From day one when I bought my car, I always thought it had this weird smell from the cloth and plastics in the interior. I figured it would go away after a few months (new car smell), but it has not. Does anyone have this problem or issue? Air freshener hardly masks it.
errrrr. help.

1) Never eat in the car
2) Don't smoke in the car if you do smoke
3) Banish groceries or food that has moderate smells to the trunk
4) Don't overdo it on your perfume/ cologne
5) Don't use car air freshener
I don't really smell the plastics because the leather smell overwhelms it (love the MR!) - I grin everytime I get people riding with me that comment about how the 'new car' smell is still there.

Actually, I was thinking of picking yo some MR seats, I think the actual smell comes from the cloth seats and not the actual plastic... my car never had that cool new car smell, or at least what I remember of it.
My IX still has the new car smell, still hazes the windows after some time. But you'd expect that on a 3 year old car with less than 5000 miles, ha.
When it's hot out and I've had the windows up all day in my ES, I'll open the door and get a wiff of new car. Well... more like new shoe, for some odd reason my ES smelled like a new shoe and not new car.

Your post reminded me of an article I read:
