For those with infants/toddlers
I have had so many strollers and car seats , but when my youngest was born I bought a combi system. Stroller was lightweight and compact so there would be room for it in the trunk of the X no problem. Now they are older I have the Recaro Signo seats and I only need a small stroller. My McLaren is by far the best stroller I've ever had. I've had mine for 6 yrs.
+1 to this suggestion, fitted with a maxi cosi infant car seat its a great combination. And it looks damn good as well. Note that the quinny zapp folds up small enough to fit in an airplane's overhead luggage compartment, it will fit easily into your evo's trunk. That said the bad part is once your kid is out of the quinny zapp it's not that great of a stroller for a toddler as it does not recline at all. Really the most practical solution is to get something like a Graco SafeRide and use the Graco SnugRider for the first 8 months of your kid's life, as its cheap small and practical. Note that the Bugaboo Frog/Chameleon will probably also be too big to fit in the trunk. Although you might want to take a look at the Bugaboo Bee. Also a big +1 to being able to take your kid out of the car WITHOUT having to take him/her out of the car seat.
Changed title of the thread, if anyone can take pics of their strollers in the trunk of the X, please post them with details on specific model of stroller and I will update the list......
(of topic) what do you guys think about the RECARO Young Sport toddler car seat? Im thinking of geting it for my babies one year birthday, or is there something better out there that i dont know?
And just because your kid is 1 doesn't mean they should be forward facing. It sucks having them rear facing, but keep them that way as long as possible. It's WAY safer.
Wife and I are expecting this november.
Today we decided to go check out some things at Babies R Us with the Evo. They were super helpful despite the overwhelming amount of choices they had. We were able to narrow it down to a few different stroller/seat combos and the staff was more than willing to let us take everything outside to try it for fit in the Evo. We tried a Britax B-Safe seat along with the Britax B-Agile stroller as well as a snap and go style stroller and also the City Mini stroller as well as a Safety First Air. All three of the styles of strollers fit no problem in the trunk. The Britax stroller was basically the same stroller as the City Mini however I must give the advantage to the City Mini for smoothness and agility especially when maneuvering tight turns. The Britax B-safe seat however was a very tight fit and truth-be-told could really only be setup in the middle. In order to put it behind the passenger seat we would need to have the seat pushed almost all the way up as well as adjust the seatback to a more upright position.
In the end we would up going with the City Mini, the snap and go (because it is super light and small), and the Safety First Air (seat). Don't get me wrong the Britax was a nice piece however it just didn't fit in the back without having to make unreasonable adjustments to the front seats.
Hopefully this info can prove useful to some other folks on these boards!
HOLLA!!!
