1250 budget
if I have $1250, I'd get the following:
Injen CAI+UICP $369 (someone selling it at this price from Vendor forums shipped)
Magnaflow 3" dual CBE $450 (shipped)
Custom tune $400

Put it this way, minus dyno time, my custom tune on this car cost 200. It was a pretty short and simple tune because I didn't do anything too crazy, smoothed out the power band and knocked it up a bit. Leaned it all out, removed a few stupid factory settings and raised the fuel cut. Now when he comes back I'm going to have him adjust a few more things, and maybe turn up the boost a bit more. And when I get an exhaust, I'll be able to datalog, email him the logs, and have him tune through email since he already will have a few maps on my car.
On the other side too, if the tunes for the Xs are as good as people are saying they are (they probably are) then they are just as good as the tune for this car (if not better), and that alone will make the X a much more enjoyable/quick car for you for awhile. I planned on getting a TBE not too long after the first tune, got the first tune, and I've almost forgotten about wanting the exhaust since the car finally feels how it should (just about, but I ignore the few kinks cuz they'll be gone soon). First mod I would do to any FI car that I ever buy will be to get a tune of some sort for it, and on a car with the tuning support like the Evo has, I would do it the day I broke in the car. 20 whp/tq would be worth 500 bucks, but I think the Xs are getting more like 40 and those all seem to be just OTS maps.
If you plan on racing your car at all, here's what I would do: get the cable and software needed for flashing (whether it be an AP or some laptop software), get a wideband and boost gauge (those two things are super important to monitor), and then get two custom tunes, one on normal gas, and one on race gas.
The short version: I would get a tune first before doing anything else to the car, it'll make huge improvements all around, and may satisfy your need for speed mods for awhile. Then save your money/pay off the car more.
I agree with getting a tune. Here is a thread we made that showed the dyno results of products without any tuning. This might help out a bit.

I have to side with speedie on this one. He sent ALL of the stuff i needed to install the BT , Volume Control, and relocate the AWC without me sending any of my stuff. I just got confirmation from him that he has received my stuff. all this took 2 weeks tops. 1 week for him to send his stuff to me, took me 1 day to install and i shipped my stuff to him the very next day and he received them today.
i am not saying you scammed him but help the guy out so he can figure out where tha parts are.
If you have $1,250 you can get the following from the dealer:
One (Left or Right) HID Projector Headlamp
