I just wanted to add my car to the list of EVO X's having peeling paint. Its in the same area as the car above. I noted it today and when I touched it the paint very easily peeled off.

I like the color but the paint is the weakest I have ever had in any car. The last time I had peeling paint anywhere was on my old (then 8 yrs old) 88' Trans Am.

I'm going to bring this up to the dealer and see if its covered for a repaint. Its really small right now, but I worry it will just start peeling the rest of the paint further away from where it is now.

Sorry for the cheap iphone pics.

Wow, this is still an issue with 2010 Evo X's! But yeah, after I got it repainted under warranty, it has held up well

Well it's always going to be an issue as long as they continue to use the same paint as 2008's. They know the paint sucks which is why they changes side skirts for 2010. It's water based, takes forever to cure and never really hardens like solvent based paint. It's a problem on most cars manufactured in Japan as they use the water based paint to meet environmental regulations.

Yup, just noticed it starting on mine this morning. So far it's not too bad, and only on the one side.. but damn, the car's only been driven for about 6 months and 3500 miles. Also noticed a few spots on one of the doors that now look faded, compared to the rest of the car.

Kinda regret spending the $250 extra for the PB paint color.. just glad I didn't shell out a few times that for a partial clear wrap. I'll see if I can get the bumper peeling fixed under warranty, but I think I'm just gonna start a rainy day fund and save up to get a real paint job.
