Gauge pod options
I just found out that the Perrin one is $100! Those look like it uses about $1.00 worth of material to make... lol. I know that they're a good solution and all, but damn. And I think the gauges in the radio kit is the best one, with A-pillars a close second. how much would it be to get something like that (xPRimNT's) fabbed up? Since I can't do that myself.
What difference does it make? Do you think those exhaust systems on the market are worth the asking price of 700+? No, but everyone buys them anyway. Shop around if you're interested in the Perrin pod. I think I paid ~85 shipped.
well I narrowed one of my choices to the single LHD Carbon Guage Pod-52mm from rexpeed as seen below:

now if I can just get a hold of the guy that makes the carbon vent gauge pod I will be content with my gauge setup....my second alternative is just to mount one of those $10.00 cup style on the right hand side of the steering wheel cover.

God. Carbon fiber.
I'd like to travel back in time, and find the first person to look at that and say "Why yes, that would look good in a car" and then kill him, and all his offspring.

I'd buy the custom fiberglass design painted to match the factory interior piece posted earlier over the carbon fiber Rexspeed unit any day. Of course, I'd prefer not to have them on my pillars in the first place. I'm still waiting on a respectable steering wheel cover replacement.
The Perrin unit blocks an unnecessarily-large amount of the dash. You can place the gauges so you don't lose anything useful, but the Perrin doesn't do it. It has to be asymmetric... the gauge on the right needs to almost hang off the side of the cover while the one on the left needs to be between the multi-function display and the tach. The little swinging arms on the Perrin don't allow for this placement, unfortunately.
I wish I knew my way around some fiberglass... I'd give it a try.

I plan on painting to match the A pillar....for the mean time I will live with this till someone puts something nice on the market.
On a side note carbon fiber only looks good if you can match right.....
ATI Gauge pod
ATI (Auto-tech Interiors) will have their three meter pod available towards the end of this month, thought it was a pretty nice piece.
I beleive its ABS, injected molded and like their previous products, color and texture matched to look stock.
