my final opinion. A WW Evo X !!
i might be a bit biased though.

Go easy on this guy. Honestly I am also cross shopping the exact same cars. WRX cuz its cheap and quick, but not bullet proof, camaro cuz I miss my 67 and love the LS3, or evo cuz they can handle 350whp with ease and good AWD.

I have a 500whp 4wd diesel so I dont need the AWD but I love launching under boost with full traction.

The 2010 Camaro is already putting down 500whp with headers and a cam.

What would you guys rather have 2010 GT500 (515 whp stock) or a 350 whp evo X ?

Tough choice

The WRX really can't compare to the Evo X. The STi can come close. I have owned both so I have a good perspective on both cars. Out of the box the Evo is the better "drivers car" only lacking in some straight line speed that can easily be fixed. The 09 STi is just as fast and is more practical-especially when you lay down the back seats. BUT you will have to drop some $ for the STi to handle and steer like the X. If you want 4 doors and awd the X in my opinion is the only way to go for the $$$$.

Okay first buy the dang evox second buy the evo x, third buy the evo x. Okay why not. The camaro sure looks good. People talk here like this individual will not modify this car.however i am not a v8 fan so i have heard it wont take much to get that beast unleashed out of the camaro. However if you just simply love the import and their capabilities go for it. Evo x is an awesome car, it has its potentials. Believe me, i am going on to buy my 3rd evo x lol but that besides the point. Perofrmance wise that evo x will detroy that camaro. I lined up with one this friday i got 10.26 on my evo x against a camaro i beat that thing of the line and then bye bye

In response to the gentleman above, I'd rather have an EVO X firing one three cylinders than to drive any of these other vehicles including lambo's and so on! I'm an EVOite, I want no other make nor model, to me it's the ultimate performance car!

That's almost a stereotypically awesome car thread post.

I have a lot of money now, being deployed, and I'm looking at a new car when I get back in Dec 09. I live upsate NY so AWD is a +, but my FWD does fine for a cpl more years till I move. OK-

My options are anything at or around 33k just so I dont go too expensive.
1. 2010 Evo x gsr
2. 2010 Camaro SS 6spd $31K
3. 2010 wrx
4. dont know lol

- I know this is pointless but I love the Evo's looks, but its so damn heavy.
- The Camaro is 426hp and hott also, at the same price, but not AWD... hmmm
- The Wrx has engine problems, doesnt look as good, but it is faser 0-60 (4.7), and save $8k, but it runs way too lean to modify safely...

So my question is, is it worth the $$ 33+,000 ?? Ive done all the reasearch on all three, months of reading, can I get a lil help here. What should I buy, pay, recommended colors, ect...

Any mods to these cars will not exceed intake, exhaust, lowerd, and maybe bigger rims if I'm feeling saucey. Thanks

J
youll be lucky to get a ss camaro for 31k. dealers are marking them up big time. my dealership owner straight up told me wait a year or so. u should go for an X

1) get a 4B11T Engine
2) Get a camaro shell
3) use the AWD from the WRX

WALA!!!! you got the best of all.

I am just kidding. But seriously, an EVO X would be the best choice of the three for following reasons:

1) Solid proven engine: I know people are gonna raise eyebrows at this, but the 4B11T has definitely proven its worth so far beyond all the Aluminum Engine Bashers' expectations.
2) More smiles per mile, the car is absolutely amazing everytime you are on a turn. The other two just don't hold a candle in this respect.
3) Tuning/Mods availability: Just talk to DG Motors in New York and they'll tell you EXACTLY why this is a major advantage to the X.
4) Stunning looks from the front AND rear (yes, I said rear) compared to the other two.
5) Last but not the least: It just makes you want to love it for all the things it does in such a small package!

However, if any of the following are a major turn-off for you, better not get the X:

1) Mitsu warranty SUCKS and so does customer service in most service centers.
2) The car's a money pit, not because it needs it, but because you think it needs it. I'm telling you, reading through these forums, you'll want to start taking money out of your savings/401K for the car
3) Highway cruising at 70 mph is fairly loud due to shorter gears then the other cars you're cross-shopping it with.
4) Turning Radius High: Full lock turns are not going to be as sharp as the other two.
5) Its an addiction, once you get it, you just can't think straight anymore. You'll start factoring in the car in every decision you make. You've been warned.
6) low end power is absolutely gone if you are not careful what gear you are in. This is not a problem with the Camaro.

I am sure there are more positives and negatives, but I just gave you the most commonly pointed out ones.

As for waiting for the 2010 models, I do not think the market will be any better in December (Thanks to the lousy political+economic climate). So you should be able to get good deals, but maybe not as good as the 08 models. Only time will tell.

I would almost say to get a 10K beater AWD car and get a 03/04 cobra. For you 33K you should be able to swing both.

Saying that, I'm getting a 2010 EVO MR to replace my Subaru SVX. So the EVO will be sitting by my 2003 cobra. I truly feel that the Evo and the Cobra are the two best cars a guy could own.

Hehe, I have my GSR sitting next to my LS1 Z28, so it's an apt comparison. Nothing like the American muscle at times.
