Wow,I see this go outside,and sure enough....the vacuum line is just hanging there. This is why I'm always on the forum.

 

When i was first told of this issue all i could think of was all the people who buy these cars and don't check forums......how the hell are they supposed to know about this? Once again, Mitsu screws up.

 

This isn't exactly a "new" problem. 8's and 9's were known to do this as well at higher boost levels, and they had EGR lines to check also.

dang! Went out and my '08 was like that too! Maybe that's why power feels like it hits a wall at 5000rpm and it idles funny....

I just checked mine and it's still hooked up, but will zip tie just in case.

 

It's 11:30pm and I just went out to the garage to check. It was attached but I put a zip tie on it anyway just in case because whenever I see a prevention thread like this I abide by what I've read! To much can go wrong to easily with these freaking cars. Sometimes I feel like I should have kept my TL, with all the money I spent fixing my x.

 

Just checked mine. Luckily the hose was still on, but I put two zip ties on anyway.

Is it ok to have those ends still there or should I cut them?

Also, this is a bit off topic and maybe a dumb question... This hose leads to nothing, that's how it's supposed to be. Right? lol...

Guys, don't just put a zip tie on one end of the hose, it can pop off at either location, zip tie both ends....

fyi, you have to take your cover off to check (just pull it off nice and slow at the 4 corners, it will pop rite off)

so i check my car and the hose is still attached. and the idle stuff sucks... even after the tsb reflash.

question: if you just put regular zipties, will they melt after time?

 

They'll probably eventually melt :-P Mine say they are rated to 85C so...ummm, allow for some engineering tolerance there and they are probably good to 100C or so? LOL. They should have really used those metal spring clips there...
