TSB Window/door rattle

FY - This may be old news, but I have been experiencing window rattles/vibrations on the driver side and when i took it in to the dealer, apparently they have a modification part they install to eliminate the problem.

There is a TSB listed in the general section here somewhere. No point to take it in as it is an easy 10 minute fix. You have to drop the window down approx 3" and completely remove the door panel, then pull off a plug and plate to access the screws that hold the window glass itself. the 1st screw was at the proper torque specs while the second screw had almost completely backed itself out. Re-torqued to the 65 ft lbs and blam, rattle gone.

I don't even want my dealership to take off my door panel. I think it will be more hassle than what its worth. They broke all the clips when doing my hood latch, and then decided to just put the panels back in without clips. What a joke.

This could explain the click sound I hear when I roll my passenger side window all the way up.

Its more of a rattling when your window is partially down and you're driving.

Great news...I was about to take my door apart to see what was going on. Need a few more issues then I can take it into the dealer to get my list of things fixed.

I just wanted to make sure the issue was corrected before I tinted the windows. I figured they would use the tinting of the windows as an excuse of not fixing the problem of window rattles. Apparently it has been a chronic problem of their original window seal design.

Note that the TSB also calls for a new bolt that can be torqued to higher specs. Appararently the original bolt was not up to spec. The TSB is in the mitsubishiparts.net forum "useful threads" sticky here:

BTW, it should be 66 in/lb, not ft lbs - don't do ft/lbs or you will most likely shatter your glass.
