Would the fact that the 2010's make max tourque earlier in the power band have anything to do with it. 4400 '08 vs. 4000 '10

well untill someone runs the new evo on the dyno, we'll never know. My guess is that 10 is making significantly more power. The 370z is lighter and has more HP but traps the same speed.

This is most likely correct, along with the better tune theory.

Wonder if Mitsubishi will allow 08s to have the 2010 programs w/o buying the 10s!

would you happen to know if the 08's u drove were flashed with the latest factory tune? if yes then that means the new muffler is much better flowing?

Bone stock mine trapped 98mph in 90+ degree heat all day. Of course after 2 back to back runs my SST gave me the warning of death but after cool down it was good to go.

what speculation?? its pretty clear the 2010 model they tested was a ringer, or there is definite increase in power. Cars don't trap 4-5mph faster with the same power, even with gear ratio changes. Not to mention, the car tested was running on 91 ****.

exactly, 08 with the 3rd updated factory reflash is the same car as the 2010 with the stock factory flash, this the case at least with the GSR

Alot of these magazine tests are done with a radar gun. Don't take their results too seriously.

Has anyone found out if the 2010's have a new flash that us 08 owners can get?

Call it whatever you want, but it is not just a 'ringer' car getting improved numbers. Road and Track posted 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.
jalopnik . com tested an owner provided 2010 Lancer Evolution MR Touring for their race against the CTS-V, and they also had the MR-T STOCK running in the 4s:

In the road and Track article, they suggest that the improvements came from remapping. Either way, more and more reviews have the new MR-T running in the 4 second range for 0-60. I'll take it!
