Needed to vent

So on Thanksgiving Day my window got busted out of my Evo and an iPod and a cup of change was taken. So I called and ordered a window thro a local dealer knowing my service was coming up and I needed to get all the recalls done. Well, the window is supposed to be in today so I called to see when I could drop off my car. They tell me it will be another week before they can even get my car into the garage. This is redic.!! I have to go without my car for 2 weeks for a window. People who steal aggravate me!

Sorry to hear about your frustration. I had my radar detector taken last week so I feel your pain.

Best of luck getting it resolved.

I used to have thick 3m film on my s4's windows and they tried to steal my valentine one but had no luck, they tried the door lock but couldnt open the car, they tried prying apart the window frame and no luck, they even smashed my driver side window with a rock or something and the glass just shattered and the alarm went off i guess that scared them, i had my V1 mounted on the window, i had change in the cup holders, my ipod and some burberry sunglasses... Im glad they could not open the car. Now i dont leave anything in sight.

That's lame. Take your car to a glass shop to get the window replaced. There's something to be said for specialty shops (i.e. a glass company) that deals in nothing but their specialty. Sorry, but your dealer should lose out on the sale to you because someone else can get it done more quickly.

Yeah, that sucks. I suggest finding a local glass shop that can do it ASAP, get their estimate, then go back to the dealer and tell them you want your money back. Just because you paid for it already, doesn't mean it's not returnable.

My brother's car got broken into last week, glass shop had the window back in it the same day.

Anybody know about this stuff?

I'm going to ask about it when I go to have my windows tinted. I imagine they have something like it here in the US (or at least hope they do.)

Thats what i was talking about its thick 3m security film, costs about 400 installed and it is supposed to even take a hit from a .22 round though i wouldnt trust my life with it , but then again it did stop the guys that were trying to steel crap from my car. You can get it clear or tinted.

I say you go to the dealer in person and speak to a supervisor. If the dealer promised to deliver on a certain day and can not for what ever reason, they have to either get the glass faster cause of the issue or at least refund you your money so you can get the problem fixed asap. It is not your fault that they can not deliver on there promise. GL with what ever happens man.

Damn, that stuff is sick, but on a car window I imagine it wouldn't really do any good since once the glass is broken, it becomes flexible, and could be easily pulled down to gain access to the interior of the car. I wouldn't think it's worth the cost except maybe to slow down a thief and make for easy cleanup...
