i think u should ask the non X members lol. But seriously if you want a IX (i have a IX MR) skip the MR and get the IX SE. Even though I love my 6 spd its not the greatest for racing.

GSR no brainer. Doesn't 2010 come with more hp? I thought they come slightly leaner? Will only matter before the tune anyways.

Mathematically GSR makes sense. I would not own a used Evo, when I can have a new one.

I bet if you asked 2010 GSR or 2010 MR, people would still be split and give you the same answers.

^^The 2008 isn't used. Brand new, 12km on it - just been sitting on the lot for a long while. Point being I can get them for the same price when year for year the mr is $6000 cdn more.

Like I said, normally I'd be gsr for sure. But with them both being new (albeit 2 years apart) and same price, the decision, at least for me, is no longer as cut and dried.

Hey, I'd go with either a 2008 or 2010 MR. I use mine as a daily driver and the MR is perfect for it.

Also - a lot of the talk regarding the SST having problems is usually from people who don't own the MR or don't own an X at all. There are plenty of MR's out there that are putting down 350 whp and 350 wtq without any issues. after that you should look at new clutches and cooling etc. but if what you're noting at the start of the thread is all your looking to do, the mr won't have any trouble at all.

The SST is an amazing tranny, I drive mine in manual sport or s/sport mode all day.

That being said - if you're a die hard and just can't get enough of using your left foot there's no amount of feedback or comments from anyone that will sway your decision from a GSR.

The short of it - I bought a 2008 MR premium brand new off the lot in June. I had a major problem (motor went boom due to a defect in the turbo) but aside from that I've loved the car. Originally I was looking for a GSR and I couldn't be happier with the MR.

Maybe I don't understand you. The 2008 MR has 12,000 km (7,500 miles) on the odometer. If it has not been sold then those are dealership miles? Either way it is in no way, shape or form brand new anymore.

Do the math. If 2009 GSR to MR difference is $6,000, then 2010 is probably close to that. The loss in value of a 2008 to now is more than $6,000. I think our cars loose maybe $8,000 in value the first two years. That's why people are always up side down on their loans.

What are the two colors? That would make a big difference for me.

I think the misunderstanding is comming from how we note everything up here in the great white north.

12km - 12 kilometers not 12,000

Oh I see it now. 12km. I got you. I could not believe 12,000 km on a dealer car. Though I worked at a Mits store where we had a never titled 12,000 mile SUV. crazy.

Thanks for the lil help.
